Footgolf is fun for the whole family at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course. I had the privilege of bringing my family for our first ever game of footgolf at Walt Disney World’s Oak Trail Golf Course. There is a reason why it is called “the happiest place on turf.”

Disney’s Oak Trail course is located next to the Shades of Green military resort. Be sure to have your ID with you, as you will need to show the guard at the entrance. Upon entering, the golf course signs are clearly marked to direct you to the parking area. With a super easy check-in at the pro shop, we were off to grab our soccer balls at the equipment rental stand. Each soccer ball is numbered, and your numbers are noted as you sign the paperwork. Once the paper was signed, our golf cart “coach” pulled up and off we went to the Oak Trail course.
The Mickey shaped sand trap welcomes you to the Oak Trail course. The cast member easily explained to us how the game works. Footgolf is just kicking the soccer ball across the green into the hole, and each hole has a certain number of kicks aka par. It is nice they have a practice green because we needed to practice. I did not want any Lucy from Peanuts moments LOL! My toddler was anxious to get started, so off we kicked!
Nine of holes of laughter and smiles. The course was well marked, moving around from hole to hole. In the distance between kicks, you could hear the Magic Kingdom train, the Luau at the Polynesian resort, and the Ticket & Transportation boats. It was relaxing. We have done our fair share of mini golf at Disney World, which is busy and boisterous. Footgolf is the total opposite. My kids absolutely loved it. They wished the course was longer. If both my toddler and tween like it, that is saying something! Not to mention my husband even got a birdie, so he thought he was “Mr. Pro.” Times like this you do not care about the score, you care about seeing your kids smile. Footgolf was so much fun!
Overall Thoughts
Never having played golf let alone footgolf, my family had a total blast! It was a wonderful way to spend an early evening. We even saw some deer and turkeys on the course. I did, however, lose to my husband and son, so I will never live that down LOL! A rematch will be needed soon. To find out more about Disney Golf and to reserve your tee time, click here.
