Black Panther is already breaking records even before its release date, scheduled in three weeks. Early Prerelease surveys show that it is tracking to earn over $100 million during opening weekend. If this number proves to be correct then Black Panther would overtake Doctor Strange which earned $85 million during its opening weekend in 2016.
The first big blockbuster release of 2018, Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,” will open in theaters February 16, the beginning of the four-day Presidents’ Day weekend.
Chadwick Boseman returns to the role of Black Panther after his debut in “Captain America: Civil War,” as T’Challa, the new King of Wakanda. The movie also stars other big names like Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.
