The summer months in central Florida can be very hot and humid, so finding a place to get out of the heat and relax is key. Paddlefish Disney Springs recently kicked off the season with its “Toast To Summer” Event. Featuring specialty cocktails, seasonal favorites, and sumptuous desserts this is the place to be.
We were fortunate enough to be invited to this “Toast To Summer” media event at Paddlefish. The timing of the event could not have been more perfect. Close to sunset, we were able to enjoy one of the featured Specialty Cocktails on offer, along the top deck of the third floor, to watch the sunset. The Prohibition Mai Tai is made with Scarlet Ibis, Orgeat, Banana Liqueur, Fresh Lime, Scrappy Orleans, and Amarena Cherry. This drink was quite good and we enjoyed the combination of flavors with the fresh lime really giving it that summer flavor. The Southern Sangria had us a bit skeptical when we noticed one of the ingredients is Bourbon. However, this ended up being our favorite drink of the night. (Hint: You cannot taste the Bourbon and this cocktail goes down very smooth.) The ingredients contained in the Southern Sangria are Medley Bros. Bourbon, Peach Liqueur, Tempranilllo and Seasonal Fruit. This Specialty Cocktail is sure to be a hit this summer!
Even if you do not want a full meal, no visit to Paddlefish is complete without the Lobster Guacamole with Tri-color seasoned chips for dipping. They make this tableside for your enjoyment and it is truly amazing.
The Burger with Pimento Cheese has an interesting flavor. Done as Sliders for this event, the melted Pimento is delicious on top of the burger, which was cooked perfectly to medium. The Maine Lobster Roll is so wonderful! With one of us being from New England, this roll is authentic as it is made with Maine Lobster and the appropriate toasted bun. The Pan Seared Scallops were absolutely incredible with Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Bacon and Cauliflower Puree.
One of the really fun points of attending the Paddlefish “Toast To Summer” media event, was the opportunity to see the Team in action. We watched as the Lobster Guacamole was made fresh, as the scallops were seared to perfection, and as the Bartenders prepared the amazing Specialty Cocktails. I spoke with one of the Managers, Marian, who worked here even when it was Fulton’s Crab House, and she told me that the Team is there because they want to be there and that makes a big difference. The Teamwork shows and presents itself well with the guest service experience.
Paddlefish does not disappoint when it comes to desserts. The Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Tart with Candied Bacon is very good. Chocolate and candied bacon is a win-win really. The Strawberry Shortcake is nice with strawberries and freshly whipped cream. Both of these choices make for a delicious ending to any meal.
We experienced an enjoyable evening with new friends, amazing food, fabulous Specialty Cocktails and a beautiful sunset. Paddlefish is in Disney Springs and sits right on the water. Reservations are suggested for this beautiful restaurant. The food is magnificent and we have not tasted anything here that we did not like. Paddlefish provides a high-quality guest experience so be sure to stop by and give a “Toast To Summer” during your next visit to Disney Springs. There is a good chance you will find us meandering along the 3rd floor deck with a Specialty Cocktail in hand too!
