The Disney Fantasy Begins Dry Dock To Add New Enhancements

Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship

On Saturday, April 29th the Disney Fantasy cruise ship left Port Canaveral, Florida without any passengers. This cruise ship hasn’t been this empty since it entered service in 2012. The youngest of Disney’s fleet, arrived in Freeport, Bahamas for its first ever dry dock.

Imaginative New Kid Spaces

During these three short weeks Disney plans to upgrade the Oceaneer Club, its immersive youth space, to include two new installations.

The first is the new Star Wars : Command Post, which will allow kids to train with heroes of the Star Wars saga and help with missions against the First Order.

The second Oceaneer Club addition is the Marvel Super Hero Academy where kids will be able to learn from real life heroes. One of these heroes is Doctor Strange who will train kids in the ways of the mystic arts.

New Shopping Opportunities

Disney Fantasy Begins Dry Dock : Sweet On You

The Disney Fantasy will also see additional enhancements like the new ice cream emporium, Sweet On You, which is themed after the iconic Mickey Mouse shorts. Luxury shopping will also be available for cruise passengers at Tiffany & Co., replacing the previous store front Vista Gallery.

On May 17th the Disney Fantasy will be showing off its new features on a unique 3-night itinerary out of Port Canaveral. This first sailing will be a Bahamian voyage with two scheduled stops, also known as a “double-dip”, at Castaway Cay. Afterwards the Disney Fantasy will resume a regular sailing of 7-night itineraries alternating between the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

With all of these new additions coming to the Disney Fantasy it’s hard not to get excited. Which new features are you looking forward to experiencing?
