Anyone who has been watching the box office in 2016 shouldn’t be surprised by the news that Disney has the three highest grossing movies of the year. “Finding Dory” came in first with $486 million, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” follows with $438.8 million, and number three is “Captain America: Civil War” with $408 million.
The interesting thing about those numbers is that “Rogue One” was only open for 16 days in 2016 and is still in theaters, so its overall numbers will just keep going up. “Finding Dory” was released June 17, 2016 and “Captain America: Civil War” was released May 6, 2016.
2017 should also be another successful year for Disney with some highly anticipated releases. Including “Beauty and the Beast”, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”, “Cars 3”, and “Star Wars: Episode VIII”, among others.
