Coast Guard Searches for man who goes overboard on Independence of the Seas

A unidentified 22 year old man reportedly fell overboard while on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Sea ship on Thursday December 22nd, 2016.

 

Royal Caribbean reported the incident to the US Coast Guard and deployed 2 lifeboats to search for the passenger. The Coast Guard took over the investigation early Thursday morning and the ship resumed it’s sailing back to port.


The cruise ship was returning from a five night trip, which included Puerto Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.
