As previously reported, Disney cut 100 painters jobs at the resorts last month. Next on the chopping block was a few character meet & greets from the Magic Kingdom. Now we are getting word that ten “Citizens of Hollywood” actors will lose their jobs in April.

The Citizens of Hollywood are the street performers you see of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This job cut will lower the group down by one third.

A spokes woman for the Actors Equity Association Maria Somma has confirmed that ten employees, 9 full time employees and one part time employee will not renew their contracts which end mid-April.

The notice was given by Disney to the employees last week.

However Disney did say there will be other entertainment coming soon, just no details as to what that entails.

On a positive note, we are eagerly looking forward to the addition of Star Wars and Toy Story lands in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

So what do you think about all of these job losses? Is Disney trying to save money due to the overall cost of Shanghai Disneyland? Let us know in the comment box below.
