I need my coffee. Seriously, I need it as much as you do too, and being on vacation is no exception. Actually, I need MORE coffee while in Walt Disney World to keep myself going from rope drop at Magic Kingdom to the finale of Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios. There are limitless options for finding coffee throughout the World but let me share some of the top spots to get you caffeine fix!
Kona Island: A stop in the lobby of Polynesian Village Resort is a must! Even if you are not staying at this resort, it is so easy to grab great coffee on your way to the Magic Kingdom. The Kona Island Coffee Stand is located just steps off the monorail inside the doors of the upper floor of the Polynesian Village lobby. Kona Island (as well as Kona Café restaurant) serves authentic Kona coffee made from beans from one of the most fertile regions of Hawaii. The beans are flown to Central Florida where they are roasted to Disney’s strict specifications. The result is pure coffee heaven!
Starbucks: When Disney added Starbucks Coffee to their parks, it caused quite a stir. This very popular java is available in 3 of the 4 parks. In Magic Kingdom, head down Main Street to the Main Street Bakery and grab yourself a cup of your favorite latte or cappuccino. The other locations are The Trolley Car Cafe in Hollywood Studios and Fountain View in EPCOT. Animal Kingdom is set to get it’s own Starbucks this summer with the reinvention of Creature Comforts, so stay tuned! There is also a Starbucks in Downtown Disney to get you charged up for all that shopping!
Contemporary Grounds: Located inside the Contemporary Resort, this sleek coffee counter is conveniently located a short walk from the Magic Kingdom. Take a break from the crowds, take a walk and fuel up with gourmet coffees and hot cocoa before tackling the rest of your afternoon!
La Cava de Tequila: Yes, thats’s right: the tequila cave. They serve an incredible coffee margarita! Inside the Mexico Pavillion in EPCOT’s World Showcase, the drink will certainly give you a boost for the rest of your travels!
Sunshine Tree Terrace: In Adventureland in Magic Kingdom you can find a coffee float at this counter that serves the famous Dole-whips and other iced coffees and floats.
Kusafiri Coffee Shop: Head into Africa in Animal Kingdom to grab a steamy cup of specialty coffee or cappuccino paired with an Elephant Ear Pastry!
The Writer’s Stop: This hidden gem inside Hollywood Studios serves coffee and tea in an ‘bookstore’ setting. Think coffee shop and bookstore in one! It is a great quiet spot to relax and recharge!
If you are looking for a table service meal that offers incredible coffee, there are some great options at some of the resorts. Sanaa, Boma and Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge serve Kenyan pressed pot coffee while Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s Boarwalk serves robust Italian blends of pressed pot deliciousness!
While these coffee spots are great options, and some are even included in your dining plan as a snack option, there are a lot of guests who will agree that one of the best cups of coffee is the FREE kind served in your refillable resort mug! Disney’s official brand of coffee is Joffrey’s and it will certainly do the trick served up hot and steamy in a Mickey and friends plastic mug! Enjoy!
