I am not sure these Disneyland Hotel Workers are going about this the right way. I understand times are tough all across the country. I can’t begin to understand their work situation with Disney. But boycotting Pixar’s Toy Story 3 doesn’t seem like the best way to handle this. Pixar while under the Disney Umbrella is still somewhat a separate entity. They have their own workers and their responsibility is to make movies. Not really the same thing as running a theme park. Not to mention Toy Story 3 deserves an Oscar cause that movie was BRILLIANT!
I don’t know maybe it’s just me but I can say by experience that where I work things are tight as well. I have not had a raise in 3 years all the while cost of living goes up and up so I can understand their frustration. Our insurance premiums alone are causing paychecks to be less and less.
Here is what they have to say about their situation:
Disneyland Resort hotel workers, who for three years have been fighting to hold on to health benefits for their children, are urging members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to vote their conscience and not to vote for Toy Story 3 for Best Picture.
