Frozen’s “Let it Go” is One Step Closer to a Big Oscar Win

Elsa

“Frozen” fans will be happy to hear that there is now one less song to beat in order to win the Best Original Song Oscar on March 2. The board at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has disqualified a song called “Alone Yet Not Alone” by Bruce Broughton.

Bruce Broughton is a former member of the board. He was taken out of the running when it was found out that he was basically asking for the nomination. He emailed members of the academy during voting.

There has been no replacement nominee named.  So the “Let it Go” songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who also happen to be a team in real life, now have only 3 competitors:

  • “Happy” by Pharrell Williams from Despicable Me 2
  • “The Moon Song” by Karen O and Spike Jonze from Her
  • “Ordinary Love” by Paul Hewson, Dave Evans, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

Finger crossed for “Frozen”

Wishing you Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

  1. The music is great hope it wins, Is it also up for best animated film? Best Disney movie ever ‪#‎ymbada‬

  2. I have to say, the music from this movie is the best since Lion King! This is the first time I’ve been this excited about a Disney movie in ages. #‎ymbada‬

  3. Let it Go SHOULD win but sadly, no one is beating Bono and Mandella. Sad though – Let It Go is AMAZING!
