A woman took thousands of dollars from her employer. Guess what she did next? She took her family to Disneyland.
Aimee Dawne Laseter, 36, of Gooding Idaho was arraigned Friday in Twin Falls County Court. She was charged with felony grand theft. Police say took the money from the psychiatric services office where she worked in 2008 and 2009.
An administrative assistant reported Laseter to the police after she had been fired in July 2009 for poor job performance. An internal investigation after the firing revealed that Laseter had embezzled more than $10,000 in cash, the employee told police.
In December 2009, police interviewed Teresa Miller, Laseter’s mother, who was a nurse at Psychiatric Services while Laseter worked there.
Miller said her daughter commuted with her from Gooding to Twin Falls, and Laseter made routine deposits at the Perrine Branch of Wells Fargo Bank on the way out of town.
After interviewing Miller, police concluded that she had nothing to do with the missing money.
Records provided to police showed that cash payments were received from some patients, but some of the money was never deposited in the office’s bank account.
The amount missing, in January 2008, was $140. The amounts slowly increased each month through June 2009, when $1,419 was missing
In all, $10,354.86 was paid to Psychiatric Services but never deposited, police said.

Not that I’d steal money, but I can’t lie – that is certainly how I’d spend it if I did…. lol.
Ugh, that’s sick!
