Disney’s Beach Club Resort is getting a major update – one that is scheduled to take almost two years to complete! Almost the entire resort will be affected by this refurbishment at some point in the upcoming months.
The refurbishment of the guests rooms began earlier this month and will include new hard and soft goods. Work is expected to continue on guest rooms through August 2015.
The entire project, which will also include public areas of the resort, is expected to take 20 months – finishing up in May 2016. The theme and overall feel of the resort will not be changing but the remodel will bring a fresh and modernized look the resort, which hasn’t seen many updates since it opened in 1990.
The resort is expected to remain open during the refurbishment, with areas being roped off as they are worked on, similar to how the remodel at the Polynesian has been handled.
We stayed at Disney’s Beach Club Resort earlier this year and while it is one of my favorite resorts on property, I’m excited to see the fresh new look when it’s finished in 2016. What updates are you hoping to see when the project is complete?

My favorite WDW Resort. I hope the sand bottom pool not closed In Sept 2015!
yes, more counter service options (this is where deluxe resorts fall short imo).
I hope DVC rooms are included and they add more studios with 2 queen beds (not 1 and a pull out).
Would love to see more counter service options. Hurricane Hanna’s isn’t open at night, so the only thing available is some sandwiches in the gift shop.
I hope they update Cape May Cafe, one of our favorite places to eat but it is staring to feel a little dungeon-y! 🙂
Just hoping the pool is not on the end of April 2015/start of May 2015 agenda!
