It’s hot. It’s humid. It’s another day at Walt Disney World and you are ready to sit down with a cold beverage and take a break. What should you choose to help beat the heat?
Soda, Pop, Coke; whatever you call it, sometimes it’s better to skip in while in the parks. Reason one: it’s expensive. Beverage purchases can add up quickly. That thirty or more dollars a day could be better spent on a new Disney souvenir! Reason number two: soda will dehydrate you. While the thought of a cool and refreshing Coke may be tempting in the August heat of Florida, don’t overdo it. Instead, grab a water; you’ll feel better and you’re body will be happier. Even better than buying tons of water bottles throughout the day – bring your own! Bring your own water bottle and fill up at the many drinking fountains throughout the park. Free and refreshing!
Do you avoid soda while you are in the parks or do you take full advantage of your rapid refill mugs and dining plan snacks to quench your thirst with an ice cold Coke? Let us know in the comment box below.
Monica is an Alumni of the Disney College Program. When she is not walking down the middle of Main Street USA you can find her wandering the World Showcase, or enjoying a Dole Whip while racing to her favorite attractions. When she is forced to endure life outside of Walt Disney World, you can find her in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she lives and works.

I agree with this recommendation!
All quick service locations offer ice water. Some table service locations provide Walter to go. Just ask.
Nothing’s more refreshing in the August heat than a Powerade. Great use of a snack credit if you’re on the Dining Plan and can’t stomach the thought of another dessert!
When we were in DLR/CA last summer, all of the quick-serve locations had paper cups of ice water out on the counter for people to easily grab! It was a great idea in hot weather and one wonders why they don’t do the same at WDW/FL?
I don’t drink soda….water all the way for me!
I’m a sweet tea drinker. I do bring those little packets of tea mix and put them in my bottled water.
