Disney Foodie Favorites – Dinner

1406

Well my Disney Foodie Friends this is our last installment in the series…for now! If you have missed the past Disney Food Favorites check out this link.

The wonderful thing about Disney food is there are so many places and new dishes to try that list are ever changing and if you’re a Disney Foodie then that is a good thing! So lets wrap this up with a bang and with that I say… Dinner is Served 😉

Now this can be a debate that can go on forever, there are peoples favorite places that they love and others that well lets just say they wouldn’t be running back to!

Whatever the case these are my picks for Disney Foodie Dinner Favorites in WDW so lets see how they compare to your list 🙂 Most times dinner will be your bigger meal of the day, most times… So that is the premise with these choices I’m going to take.

Magic Kingdom

COSMIC RAYS in the Magic Kingdom is my pick for Counter Service Dinner here! Big portions and big taste is a winning combo! My favorite here is the 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken – with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable its always juicy and flavor filled!  Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches and more are the favorites here and that’s a big plus for here, something for everyone! Plus you can have dinner and a show with  “Sonny Eclipse,” the animatronic lounge singer.

Now my choice for Table Service here in the Magic Kingdom was a toss up, I think that everyone at least once needs to eat in Cinderellas Castle just because well its Cinderellas Castle 😉 that said this is all about the food and just the food so with I am going with the CRYSTAL PALACE!! Salads, pasta, meats and sides all tasty with a more than a few stand outs. My favorite here is the Prime Rib and the Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes! Oh how I love those potato’s 😉 Buffets aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and you do dine here with Winnie and friends  but I’ve always had a hot, fresh and tasty meal here!

(I haven’t be to Be Our Guest yet so it wasn’t in the running this time around)

Animal Kingdom

Since this park isn’t open as late as the other parks so an early dinner would be on tap if choosing to dine here and my pick here is… The Yak and Yeti... for both Counter Service and Table Service!  The counter service portions were large and plenty enough to share, I love the Honey Chicken and my son loves to grab an egg roll here whenever he can! The only downside to here is seating, we grabbed ours and took a little walk and found a place in the shade. Now for the Table Service Yak and Yeti, we came here shortly after it open and was not expecting much but really enjoyed it and my mom and husband declared the ribs here the best of the trip! So we knew we needed to return to be sure, and we have really enjoyed our dinners every time! Now my mom and hubby stand by there ribs and order them without fail every time but my son and I change it up. He and I also like to share here since we can never seem to be able narrow it down, but we seem to have a favorite one of us seems to keep getting… the Duck with Anandapur Glaze – roasted half duckling, orange wasabi glaze, jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables! Crispy, done to perfection and the glaze is yummy! Plus can I say the Fried Wontons for dessert… oh baby Yum-O!!!

Hollywood Studios

Once again I have to say HS doesn’t have a stand out counter service for us, we have tried them and none have thrilled us so we do more snacking here with a sit-down lunch or dinner. But as much as I don’t like the counter service choices in HS one of my favorite table service places in all of WDW is here,  Mama Melrose’s! Now I might catch a little heat for this one but honestly we have always had wonderful service and great food here… every single time! On our last trip there was 10 of us and everyone of us voted this one of our favorite dinners of the trip 🙂 My stand out here was the Seafood Arrabbiata– Shrimp, mussels, calamari, Fish of the Day, with pasta and tossed with a Spicy Seafood Sauce. This tasty mouth watering dish was amazing, it was honestly an outstanding dish that I cannot wait to have again!

Epcot

Well my friends when you want food on any Disney trip, Epcot is the park to visit. Being able to “snack” around the world be it for snacks, drinks, desserts or main courses can be done and is so much fun! From Mexico to Canada the World Showcase in Epcot can give your taste-bud’s some worldly goodies! Counter Service here is plentiful and at every turn which is nice when you’re in a group and not everyone wants the same thing. Now we have many favorites here but one that we seem to never miss is the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom and Fish & Chips sums it all up! Fresh, hot, crispy and delicious 🙂 My favorite table service in Epcot is Le Cellier in Canada. My favorite meal here consist of the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup with Pretzel Bread and Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon – 8 oz. Canadian AAA Beef Tenderloin with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle butter sauce and micro chervil. Savory and Scrumptious is a great way to wrap up dinner here, the steak was fork tender and the risotto cooked to perfection made for one happy girl 🙂 I must say I was not happy about the move to 2 credits and now even 2 for lunch 🙁 on the Disney Dining plan.

Downtown Disney

This place is a Hodge podge of places to eat and that is a good thing, just trying to choose is the tough part. Wolfgang Puck Express is a gem of a counter service place, breakfast, lunch or dinner here is outstanding every time with out fail. My favorite here is the Four Cheese Macaroni – A creamy blend of four cheeses (mozzarella, cheddar, fontina and Gorgonzola) baked with macaroni. All the cheesy goodness in this dish makes it lip-smacking and heavenly and running a very close second here was the Rigatoni– With chicken bolognese 🙂 Whatever your choice I don’t think you can ever go wrong here!! Did you ever go some place and just get blown away? Well that was me at House of Blues, wow!! We all loved it and will be back for sure!!  My mom had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and oh my goodness crispy, Finger Licking Good and just yummy with a capital Y! Now being here I had to try the Jambalaya and  kids let me tell you this was “smack your momma good” it just doesn’t get any better than this, spicy, full of flavor and just Delicious! You might not hear a lot about the House of Blues but put on your list and try it out, you won’t be sorry 😉

Resorts

I was torn on this one so I picked 2 tables service places! Its no secret I love, love, love Ohana we go here once a trip for either breakfast or dinner and sometimes both! I think this is a true Disney Foodies Paradise dinner!  Pork fried dumplings, Coriander chicken wings, and Mixed Greens with Honey-Lime dressing then broccoli and green peas and pad Thai noodles. with Sauces: peanut, chimichurri and sweet-and-sour! Then the really good stuff… Marinated sirloin steak, Asian BBQ pork loin, Mesquite grilled turkey, and non-peeled shrimp… Everything delicious and flavorful, my favorite is the Shrimp~ Wish I had some right now! Ohana books up quickly so be on the ball and make your reservation here asap 😉 My other choice here is at the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht & Beach Club / Yacht Club Resort this is one of those places that you just need to go to at least once, amazing service and absolute delectable dishes from start to finish~ My favorite starter here is the Lobster Bisque Made with Maine lobster and creme fraiche finished with Brandy makes it creamy, rich, smooth with chunks of lobster just luscious! For dinner here I am a NY Strip Steak fan, done to perfection and cuts like butter…mmm it just doesn’t get better than that! Now if you want a really big steak here and an a  succulent one at that then by all means go for the 28 oz Porterhouse! My hubby and nephew love this and I have to say it is wonderful (I stole a bite) just a little on large size but heavenly none the less 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my Disney Foodie Series and I also hope you have a list of your own! There are so many foodie choices at WDW trying new places and dishes means you can have a list of new favorites every time you go, nothing wrong with that 😉

Dana

  1. I agree- the Crystal Palace for dinner is GREAT! I love the salmon and the broccoli they offer at dinnertime. And yes, those potatoes are amazing.
