The Lunar New Year Festivities at Disney California Adventure Park will be extended to an impressive 24 days and will run from January 26 – February 18th. This year the Festival will commemorate the Year of the Dog and guests will have an opportunity to experience more fun than ever including multicultural performances, activities, beautiful decor, delicious cuisine and themed merchandise.

Pluto – This cuddly canine companion will be greeting guests during “The Year of the Dog” along with pals Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Chip ‘n Dale.
“Hurry Home”- Lunary New Year Celebration – This heartwarming nighttime water pageant at Paradise Bay will appear prior to “World of Color” and tells the tale of a little lanterns quest to reunite with family during this annual celebration of good luck and fortune. Mulan and Mushu will also be on hand to help the lantern along its journey.
“Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession – Speaking of Mulan, her and Mushu will lead a magical celebration that honors Lunar New Year and celebrates family and friendship. Goofy joins in the fun this year spreading happiness in his celebratory “God of Good Fortune” attire.
Asian Marketplaces – Three food booths located near the Golden Zephyr attraction will offer dishes inspired by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures. Paradise Garden Grill will also be joining in on the fun. Special menu items include a purple sweet potato macaron and pork soup dumplings with black vinegar and ginger.
Gugu Drum Group – Hailing from Shanghai, China, this incredible troupe of drummers, storytellers and athletes will perform authentic movements and ancient percussive rhythms to bring Chinese proverbs, fables and fairy tales to live at Paradise Park.
Dat Nguyen – This Vietnamese artist will play traditional and original compositions on classical guitar ,lute, flute and melodica at the Paradise Garden Bandstand.
Luna Lee – This Korean musician plays the gayageum, an ancient Korean string instrument and will also appear at Paradise Gardens.
Other Liver Performances – In addition to the amazing talent listed above, Korean drummers, Vietnamese hat dancers, Vietnamese flower dances and Korean fan dancers will be holding performances daily.
Hands-On Activities – There will be an area where guests can try their hands at arts and crafts including Chinese calligraphy and paper lantern making with local artisans. Complimentary face painting will also be offered.
Lucky Wishing Well – Here guests can make their own wishes for the future.
Lunar New Year Decor – Watch as California Adventure is magically transformed with ornamental lanterns and banners wishing guests a Happy Lunar New Year in English, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.
Lunar New Year Merchandise – A perfect way to remember your visit, event merchandise will be available that commemorates the different cultures of East Asia. Noteworthy items include Shanghai Disney Resort merchandise that will be available for purchase including traditional red envelopes for gift-giving, Mickey Mouse plush toys, Minnie Mouse snow globes and a limited edition pin. There will also be special Lunar New Year designs available in adult tees and hoodies.
