The 2010 the Disney Film, ‘The Search For Santa Paws’ went straight to DVD. It is a heart-warming tale where Santa adopts a misfit dog with big paws. When Ray Harter, Ed Corno and Richard Kerney heard the story they were not filled with Christmas cheer. It felt like the grinch had given them a visit.
In the 1990’s the group had worked for an advertising firm and had written a story called, “Santa Paws: The Story Of Santa’s Dog.” In 1996 Disney had expressed interest in their story to their agent. Now the writers have filed suit for copyright infringement because the Disney DVDs are so similar to their story written in the ’90s.
The suit is being filed against Disney, WME, Buena Vista, Key Pix, Robert Vance, Anna McRoberts, John Ferriter, Barry Jeffery and many more defendants.
