“Wonder Twin Powers, Activate!”
An original live-action feature for HBO Max based on the “Wonder Twins” DC characters is now in the works! Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill will produce the project, which will be titled Wonder Twins.
Some of you might be wondering why the name sounds familiar. The Wonder Twins are perhaps best known from their debut in the Hanna-Barbera’s The All-New Super Friends Hour.
Wonder Twins would follow the alien siblings Zan and Jayna, who are twins from the planet Exxor. Zan has the ability to transform into any form of water, while Jayna can transform into any animal — powers that occur after the pair touch hands and say their iconic catchphrase “Wonder Twin powers, activate!” Together, the pair fight evil both by themselves and with heroes such as the Justice League, alongside their monkey sidekick named Gleek.
It’ll be a while before we see these twins on TV, but plenty of other DC Comics characters are coming soon to both theaters and HBO Max.

In the meantime, it’s certainly looking like 2022 will be a big year for DC Comics movies. The Peacemaker series on HBO Max is a hit among streaming audiences. The Warner Bros studios currently has plans for Batman, Flash, and Aquaman to have live action theatrical releases in 2022 as well.
There’s also the highly anticipated Black Adam movie, which will arrive on July 29, 2022. Dwayne Johnson plays the main lead. Black Adam is a DC Comics character who’s walked the line between being a hero and villain. So, it’ll be quite interesting to see how his live action version will compare for audiences!
