Two women have pleaded no contest to charges that they defrauded investors. The two women, Maricela Torres and Juliana Celeste Menefee, along with the scam’s ringleader Eva Perez, told potential investors that they had a contract with a dairy to sell milk to Disneyland. They defrauded seven people out of nearly $600,000.
Both women entered pleas on Monday to seven counts of securities fraud. They were sentenced to three years in jail and were ordered to pay nearly $300,000 to each of the victims. Perez had already entered a plea and was sentenced to ten years in prison and was ordered to pay more than $10 million in restitution.
