  24. Walt Disney ate a hot dog in Disneyland and counted how many steps it took to finish it. It took him 17 steps (I think), which is the spacing used in every Disney park today.

  25. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 to Elias Disney and Flora Call Disney in the Chicago area

  26. “It has that thing – the imagination, and the feeling of happy excitement- I knew when I was a kid.”

  27. “Disneyland is a work of love. We didn’t go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money.”

  28. “We believed in our idea – a family park where parents and children could have fun- together.”

  29. “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

  30. “It’s something that will never be finished. Something that I can keep developing…and adding to.”

  31. “I first saw the site for Disneyland back in 1953, In those days it was all flat land – no rivers, no mountains, no castles or rocket ships – just orange groves, and a few acres of walnut trees.”

  32. “We did it (Disneyland), in the knowledge that most of the people I talked to thought it would be a financial disaster – closed and forgotten within the first year.”

  33. “When we opened Disneyland, a lot of people got the impressions that it was a get-rich-quick thing, but they didn’t realize that behind Disneyland was this great organization that I built here at the Studio, and they all got into it and we were doing it because we loved to do it.”

  34. “I don’t want the public to see the world they live in while they’re in the Park (Disneyland). I want to feel they’re in another world.”

  35. “It’s no secret that we were sticking just about every nickel we had on the chance that people would really be interested in something totally new and unique in the field of entertainment.”

  36. “Biggest problem? Well, I’d say it’s been my biggest problem all my life. MONEY. It takes a lot of money to make these dreams come true. From the very start it was a problem. Getting the money to open Disneyland. About seventeen million it took. And we had everything mortgaged including my personal insurance.”

  37. “To all that come to this happy place: welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America… with hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”

  38. “We have created characters and animated them in the dimension of depth, revealing through them to our perturbed world that the things we have in common far outnumber and outweigh those that divide us.”

  39. “I try to build a full personality for each of our cartoon characters – to make them personalities.”

  40. “To think six years ahead – even two or three – in this business of making animated cartoon features, it takes calculated risk and much more than blind faith in the future of theatrical motion pictures. I see motion pictures as a family-founded institution closely related to the life and labor of millions of people. Entertainment such as our business provides has become a necessity, not a luxury. . . it is the part which offers us the greatest reassurance about the future in the animation field.”

  41. “Animation is different from other parts. Its language is the language of caricature. Our most difficult job was to develop the cartoon’s unnatural but seemingly natural anatomy for humans and animals.”

  42. “I take great pride in the artistic development of cartoons. Our characters are made to go through emotions which a few short years ago would have seemed impossible to secure with a cartoon character. Some of the action produced in the finished cartoon of today is more graceful than anything possible for a human to do.”

  43. “Animation can explain whatever the mind of man can conceive. This facility makes it the most versatile and explicit means of communication yet devised for quick mass appreciation.”

  44. “In learning the art of storytelling by animation, I have discovered that language has an anatomy. Every spoken word, whether uttered by a living person or by a cartoon character, has its facial grimace, emphasizing the meaning.”

  45. “Cartoon animation offers a medium of storytelling and visual entertainment which can bring pleasure and information to people of all ages everywhere in the world.”

  46. “We have created characters and animated them in the dimension of depth, revealing through them to our perturbed world that the things we have in common far outnumber and outweigh those that divide us.”

  47. “I started, actually, to make my first animated cartoon in 1920. Of course, they were very crude things then and I used sort of little puppet things.”

  48. “Animation offers a medium of story telling and visual entertainment which can bring pleasure and information to people of all ages everywhere in the world.”

  49. “I was doing Sorcerer’s Apprentice with Mickey Mouse and I happened to have dinner on night with Leopold Stokowski. And Stokowski said, ‘Oh, I’d love to conduct that for you.’ … Well, that led to not only doing this one little short subject but it got us involved to where I did all of Fantasia and before I knew it I ended up spending four hundred and some thousand dollars getting music with Stokowski. But we were in then and it was the point of no return. We went ahead and made it.”

  50. “Fantasia, to me is a whole new opportunity. For my medium it opens up unlimited possibilities. Music has always played a very important part since sound came into the cartoon. Now, the full expression that comes from the new Fantasound opens up a whole new world for us.”

  51. “I don’t believe there’s a challenge anywhere in the world that’s more important to people everywhere than finding solutions to the problems of our cities. But where do we begin… how do we start answering this great challenge? Well, we’re convinced we must start answering the public need. And the need is for starting from scratch on virgin land and building a special kind of new community that will always be in a state of becoming. I twill never cease to be a living blueprint of the future, where people actually live a life they can’t find anywhere else in the world.”

  52. EPCOT will be an experimental prototype community of tomorrow that will take its cue from the new ideas and new technologies that are now emerging from the creative centers of American industry. It will be a community of tomorrow that will never be completed, but will always be introducing and testing and demonstrating new materials and systems. And EPCOT will always be a showcase to the world for the ingenuity and imagination of American free enterprise.”

  54. “It’s like the city of tomorrow ought to be. A city that caters to the people as a service function. It will be a planned, controlled community, a showcase for American industry and research, schools, cultural and educational opportunities.

  56. “But the most exciting and by far the most important part of our Florida Project…in fact, the heart of everything we’ll be doing in Disney World…will be our Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow! We call it EPCOT.”

  57. The Rough, Tough, Burly Sailor Song
From The Adventures of the Gummi Bears
    ——————————————————————————–

We are rough, tough, burly sailors
As tall as we are wide
And the ocean’s just an itty-bitty pond
With Gummies on the other side

We are rough, tough, burly sailors
We are rough, tough, burly guys
And we sail the seas on the salty breeze
    Eating gummiberry pies

    CHORUS (Twice):
    Sing hey! Heave-ho!
    Sing hey! Heave-ho!
    We’ll be heaving and a ho-ing
But we don’t know where we’re going
    Sing hey! Heave-ho!

We are rough, tough, burly sailors
We’re a rough, tough, burly crew
To stay big and burly, we get up early
    And eat burly barley stew!

We are rough, tough, burly sailors
We love to tell tall tales
Of sailing ships, of mermaid’s lips
    And taming killer whales

    CHORUS

We are rough, tough, burly sailors
    Don’t ever call us dumb
We hammer and hammer on the old windjammer
But we never smash our thumbs (ouch!)

    CHORUS (Twice)

  58. Home Is Where The Heart Is
    From Tale Spin
    ——————————————————————————–

Home is where the heart is
    Whereever you may be
There’ll always be a home for you
    Here inside of me

Home is where the heart is
    And whatever we may do
There’ll always be a part of me
    Here inside of you

    CHORUS:
    Four walls may surround you
And protect you from a storm
But my two arms around you
Will keep you safe and warm

If ever I’m not with you
    If ever you’re alone
    Remember where my heart is
And you’ll always have a home

    CHORUS

Home is where the heart is
    Whereever you may be
There’ll always be a home for you
    Here inside of me

Home is where the heart is
    Here my heart’s at home
    And you’ll never be alone
    And you’ll never be alone
    Remember where my heart is
And you’ll always have a home

  59. “Believe me, it’s the most exciting and challenging assignment we have ever tackled at Walt Disney Productions.”

  60. “I’ve always said that there will never be another Disneyland, and I think it’s going to work out that way. But it will be the equivalent of Disneyland. We know the basic things that have family appeal. There are many ways that you can use those certain basic things and give them a new decor, a new treatment. This concept here will have to be something that is unique, so there is a distinction between Disneyland in California and whatever Disney does in Florida.”

  61. “We’ve got to study the land.. . . . .We’ve got to put Disneyland, which everybody will know, at the very upper end of the property because that will be the weenie.”

  62. “Here in Florida, we have something special we never enjoyed at Disneyland…the blessing of size. There’s enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine.”

  63. “The life and ventures of Mickey Mouse have been closely bound up with my own personal and professional life. It is understandable that I should have sentimental attachment for the little personage who played so big a part in the course of Disney Productions and has been so happily accepted as an amusing friend wherever films are shown around the world. He still speaks for me and I still speak for him.”

  64. “We felt that the public, and especially the children, like animals that are cute and little. I think we are rather indebted to Charlie Chaplin for the idea. We wanted something appealing, and we thought of a tiny bit of a mouse that would have something of the wistfulness of Chaplin- a little fellow trying to do the best he could.”

  65. “Born of necessity, the little fellow literally freed us of immediate worry. He provided the means for expanding our organization to its present dimensions and for extending the medium cartoon animation towards new entertainment levels. He spelled production liberation for us.”

  66. “He popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad 20 years ago on a train ride from Manhattan to Hollywood at a time when business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself were at lowest ebb and disaster seemed right around the corner.”

  67. “When people laugh at Mickey Mouse, it’s because he’s so human; and that is the secret of his popularity.”

  68. “I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse.”

  69. “When we consider a project, we really study it–not just the surface idea, but everything about it. And when we go into that new project, we believe in it all the way. We have confidence in our ability to do it right. And we work hard to do the best possible job.”

  70. Adults are interested if you don’t play down to the little 2 or 3 year olds or talk down. I don’t believe in talking down to children. I don’t believe in talking down to any certain segment. I like to kind of just talk in a general way to the audience. Children are always reaching.”

  71. “I have no use for people who throw there weight around as celebrities, or for those who fawn over you just because you are famous.”

  72. “Of all of our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language.”

  73. “Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource – the minds of our children.”

  74. “I have been up against tough competition all my life. I wouldn’t know how to get along without it.”

  75. Or heritage and ideals, our code and standards – the things we live by and teach our children – are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings.”

  76. Go the Distance
    Vocal: Hercules (Roger Bart)
    Music: Alan Menken
    Lyrics: David Zippel

    ——————————————————————————–

    I have often dreamed
    Of a far-off place
    Where a great warm welcome
    Will be waiting for me
    Where the crowds will cheer
    When they see my face
    And a voice keeps saying
This is where I’m meant to be

    I will find my way
    I can go the distance
    I’ll be there someday
    If I can be strong
    I know ev’ry mild
    Will be worth my while
    I would go most anywhere
    to feel like I belong

    I am on my way
    I can go the distance
    I don’t care how far
    Somehow I’ll be strong
    I know ev’ry mile
    Will be worth my while
    I would go most anywhere
    to find where I belong

  77. “There is more treasure n books than in all the pirates’ loot on Treasure Island and at the bottom of the Spanish Main … and best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life.”

  78. The Gospel Truth III
    Vocal: The Muses
    Music: Alan Menken
    Lyrics: David Zippel

    ——————————————————————————–

    Young Herc was mortal now
But since he did not drink the last drop
He still retained his godlike strength
    So thank his lucky star

    But Zeus and Hera wept
Because their son could never come home
They’d have to watch their precious baby
    Grow up from afar

    Though Hades horrid plan
Was hatched before Herc cut his first tooth
The boy grew stronger ev’ry day and
    That’s the gospel truth

  79. The Gospel Truth II
Vocal: Chorus and Muse (Roz Ryan)
    Music: Alan Menken
    Lyrics: David Zippel

    ——————————————————————————–

If there’s one God you don’t want to get steamed up
It’s Hades, cause he had an evil plan
    He ran the Underworld
But thought the dead were dull and uncouth
He was as mean as he was ruthless
    And that’s the gospel truth
He had a plan to shake things up
    And that’s the gospel truth

  80. “Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children’s approach to life. They’re people who don’t give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought – sometimes it isn’t much, either.”

  81. The Gospel Truth I
    Vocal: The Muses
    Music: Alan Menken
    Lyrics: David Zippel

    ——————————————————————————–

Back when the world was new
The planet Earth was down on its luck
    And everywhere gigantic brutes
    called Titans ran amok

    It was a nasty place
    There was a mess
    whereever you stepped
    Where chaos reigned and
    earthquakes and volcanoes never slept

    And then along came Zeus
    He hurled his thunderbolt
    He zapped
Locked those suckers in a vault
    They’re trapped
    And on his own stopped
    chaos in its tracks
    And that’s the gospel truth
The guy was too type A to just relax

And that’s the world’s first dish
    Zeus tamed the globe
    while still in his youth
Though, honey, it may seem imposs’ble
    That’s the gospel truth

On Mt. Olympus life was neat and
    Smooth as sweet vermough
Though, honey, it may seem imposs’ble
    That’s the gospel truth

  82. “People still think of me as a cartoonist, but the only thing I lift a pen or pencil for these days is to sign a contract, a check, or an autograph.”

  83. “Whenever I go on a ride, I’m always thinking of what’s wrong with the thing and how it can be improved.”

  84. “I never called my work an ‘art’ It’s part of show business, the business of building entertainment.”

  85. “Movies can and do have tremendous influence in shaping young lives in the realm of entertainment towards the ideals and objectives of normal adulthood.”

  86. “Somehow I can’t believe there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C’s. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy and the greatest of these is Confidence. When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably.”

  87. “I don’t like formal gardens. I like wild nature. It’s just the wilderness instinct in me, I guess

  88. “When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do. And one thing it takes to accomplish something is courage.”

  92. I Just Can’t Wait to Be King

    ——————————————————————————–

[Simba:] I’m gonna be a mighty king
    So enemies beware!

[Zazu:] Well I’ve never seen a king of beasts
    With quite so little hair

[Simba:] I’m gonna be the mane event
    Like no king was before
I’m brushing up on looking down
    I’m working on my roar

[Zazu:] Thus far, a rather uninspiring thing

[Simba:] Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!

[Simba:] No one saying do this
[Nala:] No one saying be there
[Simba:] No one saying stop that
[Nala:] No one saying see here
    [Zazu:] Now see here!
[Simba:] Free to run around all day
Free to do it all my way

[Zazu:] I think it’s time that you and I
    Arranged a heart to heart

    [Simba] Kings don’t need advice
From little hornbills for a start

[Zazu:] If this is where the monarchy is headed
    Count me out
Out of service, out of Africa
    I wouldn’t hang about
This child is getting wildly out of wing

[Simba:] Oh, I just can’t wait to be king

    Everybody look left
    Everybody look right
    Everywhere you look I’m
    Standing in the spotlight

[Animals:] Let every creature go for broke and sing
Let’s hear it in the herd and on the wing
It’s gonna be King Simba’s finest fling

[Simba:] Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!
Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!
Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!

  93. A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes (Cinderella)

A dream is a wish your heart makes
    When you’re fast asleep
In dreams you will loose your heartache
Whatever you wish for you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling through
No matter how your heart is grieving
    If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true

A dream is a wish your heart makes
    When you’re feeling small
Alone in the night you whisper
Thinking no-one can hear you at all
You wake with the morning sunlight
To find fortune that is smiling on you
Don’t let your heart be filled with sorrow
    For all you know tomorrow
The dream that you wish will come true

A dream is a wish your heart makes
A dream is a wish your heart makes

You wake with the morning sunlight
To find fortune that is smiling on you
Don’t let your heart be filled with sorrow
    For all you know tomorrow
The dream that you wish will come true

No matter how your heart is grieving
    If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true

  94. Circle of Life

    ——————————————————————————–

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There’s far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
    But the sun rolling high
    Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

    It’s the circle of life
    And it moves us all
    Through despair and hope
    Through faith and love
    Till we find our place
    On the path unwinding
    In the circle
    The circle of life

  95. Prince Ali (Reprise)

    ——————————————————————————–

Prince Ali, yes it is he
But not as you know him
Read my lips and come to grips with reality
Yes, meet a blast from your past
Whose lies were too good to last
Say hello to your precious Prince Ali!

So Ali turns out to be merely Aladdin
Just a con, need I go on?
    Take it from me
    His personality flaws
    Give me adequate cause
To send him packing on a one-way trip
So his prospects take a terminal dip
His assets frozen, the venue chosen
Is the ends of the earth – whoopee!
    So long, ex-Prince Ali!

    ——————————————————————————–

    A Whole New World

    ——————————————————————————–

[Aladdin:] I can show you the world
    Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

    I can open your eyes
    Take you wonder by wonder
    Over, sideways and under
    On a magic carpet ride

    A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
    Or where to go
    Or say we’re only dreaming

    [Jasmine:] A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I’m way up here
    It’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you
[Aladdin:] Now I’m in a whole new world with you

    [Jasmine:] Unbelievable sights
    Indescribable feeling
    Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
    Through an endless diamond sky

    A whole new world
[Aladdin:] Don’t you dare close your eyes
[Jasmine:] A hundred thousand things to see
[Aladdin:] Hold your breath – it gets better
[Jasmine:] I’m like a shooting star
    I’ve come so far
I can’t go back to where I used to be

    [Aladdin:] A whole new world
    [Jasmine:] Every turn a surprise
[Aladdin:] With new horizons to pursue
    [Jasmine:] Every moment red-letter
    [Both:] I’ll chase them anywhere
    There’s time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

    A whole new world
    That’s where we’ll be
    [Aladdin:] A thrilling chase
    [Jasmine:] A wondrous place
    [Both:] For you and me

  96. Prince Ali

    ——————————————————————————–

    Make way for Prince Ali
    Say hey! It’s Prince Ali

Hey! Clear the way in the old Bazaar
    Hey you!
    Let us through!
    It’s a bright new star!
    Oh Come!
Be the first on your block to meet his eye!

    Make way!
    Here he comes!
    Ring bells! Bang the drums!
Are you gonna love this guy!

    Prince Ali! Fabulous he!
    Ali Ababwa
    Genuflect, shom some respect
    Down on one knee!
Now, try your best to stay calm
    Brush up your sunday salaam
The come and meet his spectacular coterie

    Prince Ali!
    Mighty is he!
    Ali Ababwa
Strong as ten regular men, definitely!
    He faced the galloping hordes
A hundred bad guys with swords
Who sent those goons to their lords?
    Why, Prince Ali

    He’s got seventy-five golden camels
    Purple peacocks
    He’s got fifty-three
When it comes to exotic-type mammals
    Has he got a zoo?
    I’m telling you, it’s a world-class menagerie

Prince Ali! Handsome is he, Ali Ababwa
That physique! How can I speak
    Weak at the knee
Well, get on out in that square
    Adjust your vein and prepare
To gawk and grovel and stare at Prince Ali!

There’s no question this Ali’s alluring
    Never ordinary, never boring
Everything about the man just plain impresses
    He’s a winner, he’s a whiz, a wonder!
He’s about to pull my heart asunder!
And I absolutely love the way he dresses!

He’s got ninety-five white Persian monkeys
(He’s got the monkeys, let’s see the monkeys)
And to view them he charges no fee
    (He’s generous, so generous)
He’s got slaves, he’s got servants and flunkies
    (Proud to work for him)
They bow to his whim love serving him
They’re just lousy with loyalty to Ali! Prince Ali!

    Prince Ali!
    Amorous he! Ali Ababwa
Heard your princess was a sight lovely to see
And that, good people, is why he got dolled up and dropped by
    With sixty elephants, llamas galore
    With his bears and lions
    A brass band and more
With his forty fakirs, his cooks, his bakers
His birds that warble on key
    Make way for prince Ali!

  97. Heigh-Ho (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)

We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in our mine the
    whole day through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we really like to do
It ain’t no trick to get rich quick
If you dig dig dig with a shovel or a pick
In a mine! In a mine! In a mine! In a mine!
    Where a million diamonds shine!

We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig from early morn till night
We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig up everything in sight
We dig up diamonds by the score
    A thousand rubies, sometimes more
But we don’t know what we dig ’em for
We dig dig dig a-dig dig

    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
    Heigh-ho

    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It’s home from work we go

    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho

    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho

    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
    Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
    Heigh-ho hum

    Heigh-ho

  98. You’ve Got a Friend in Me (Toy Story)

You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you’re miles and miles from your warm. nice bed
You just remember what your all pal said
Boy, you’ve got a friend in me
Yeah, you’ve got a friend in me

You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me
You got troubles, then I got ’em too
There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you
If we stick together we can see it through
‘Cause you’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me

    Now some other folks might
Be a little bit smarter than I am
    Bigger and stronger too. Maybe
But none of them will ever love you
    The way I do
    Just me and you, boy

And as the years go by
    Our friendship will never die
You’re gonna see, it’s our destiny

You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me

  99. We Go On (IllumiNations, Epcot)

With the stillness of the night
there comes a time to understand
to reach out and touch tomorrow
take the future in our hand
We can see a new horizon
built on all that we have done
    and our dreams begin another
    thousand circles ’round the sun

    We go on
to the joy and through the tears
    We go on
    to discover new frontiers
    Moving on
with the current of the years

    We go on
    moving forward, now as one
    Moving on
with a spirit born to run
    Ever on
    with each rising sun
    To a new day
    We go on
    We go on

  100. Baby Mine (Dumbo)

    Baby mine don’t you cry
    Baby mine dry your eye
Rest your head close to my heart
    Never to part
    Baby of mine
If they knew sweet little you
They’d end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
What they’d give just for the right to hold you

    Little one when you play
Don’t you mind what you say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
    Never a tear
    Baby of mine

From your head down to your toes
    You’re not much, goodness knows
But you’re so precious to me
    Cute as can be
    Baby of mine

  101. The World’s Greatest Criminal Mind

    ——————————————————————————–

[Ratigan:] My friends, we are about to embark on the most
odious, the most evil, the most diabolical scheme
of my illustrious career. A crime to top all crimes,
a crime that will live in infamy!
    [Chorus:]
[Ratigan:] Tomorrow evening, our beloved monarch celebrates her
diamond jubilee. And, with the enthusiastic help of
our good friend Mr Flaversham, it promises to be a
night she will never forget. Her last night, and my
first, as supreme ruler of all mousedom!

From the brain that brought you the Big Ben Caper
The head that made headlines in every newspaper
And wondrous things like the Tower Bridge Job
That cunning display that made London a sob

Now comes the real tour de force
    Tricky and wicked, of course
My earlier crimes were fine for their times
But now that I’m at it again
An even grimmer plot has been simmering
    In my great criminal brain

[Chorus:] Even meaner? You mean it?
Worse than the widows and orphans you drowned?
You’re the best of the worst around
    Oh, Ratigan
    Oh, Ratigan
    The rest fall behind
    To Ratigan
    To Ratigan
    The world’s greatest criminal mind

[Ratigan:] Thank you, Thank you. But it hasn’t all been
champagne and caviar. I’ve had my share of
adversity, thanks to that miserable second-rate
detective, Basil of Baker Street. For years, that
insufferable pipsqueak has interfered with my plans.
I haven’t had a moment’s peace of mind. But, all
that’s in the past! This time, nothing, not even
Basil, can stand in my way! All will bow before
    me!

    [Chorus:] Oh, Ratigan
    Oh, Ratigan
    You’re tops and that’s that
    To Ratigan
    To Ratigan
[Bartholomew:] To Ratigan, the world’s greatest rat

[Ratigan:] What was that? What did you call me?
[Thug 1:] Oh, oh, he didn’t mean it, Professor.
[Thug 2:] I-it was just a slip of the tongue.
[Ratigan:] I am NOT A RAT!
    [Thug 3:] ‘Course you’re not. You’re a mouse!
[Thug 4:] Yeah, that’s right. Right! A mouse.
[Thug 5:] Yeah, a big mouse!
[Ratigan:] SILENCE! Oh, my dear Bartholomew, I’m afraid that
you’ve gone and upset me. You know what happens
    when someone upsets me.

    [Bartholomew:] Oh, Ratigan
    Oh, Ratigan
You’re the tops and that’s that
    (Oh dear.)
    To Ratigan
    To Ratigan
To Ratigan, the world’s greatest –
    [Felicia:] Meow.
[Ratigan:] Oh, Felicia, my precious, my baby. Did Daddy’s
little honey bun enjoy her tasty ___?
    [Felicia:] Urp.
[Ratigan:] I trust there will be no further interruptions?
And now, as you were singing?

    [Chorus:] Even louder
    We’ll shout it!
No one can doubt what we know you can do
You’re more evil than even you
    Oh, Ratigan
    Oh, Ratigan
    You’re one of a kind
    To Ratigan
    To Ratigan
    The world’s greatest criminal mind

  102. Goodbye May Seem Forever
Performed by: Widow Tweed (Jeanette Nolan)

    ——————————————————————————–

    Widow Tweed
We met, it seems, such a short time ago
You looked at me – needing me so
    Yet from your sadness
    Our happiness grew
And I found out I needed you too
I remember how we used to play
    I recall those rainy days
    The fire’s glow
    That kept us warm
And now I find – we’re both alone
    Goodbye may seem forever
    Farewell is like the end
But in my heart is a memory
    And there you’ll always be

    Chorus
    Goodbye may seem forever
    Farewell is like the end
But in my heart is a memory
    And there you’ll always be

  104. Best Friends
Performed by: Big Mama (Pearl Bailey)

    ——————————————————————————–

When you’re the best of friends
    Having so much fun together
You’re not even aware, you’re such a funny pair
    You’re the best of friends

    Life’s a happy game
    You could clown around forever
Neither one of you sees, your natural boundaries
    Life’s one happy game

If only the world wouldn’t get in the way
If only people would just let you play
They say you’re both being fools
    You’re breaking all the rules
They can’t understand your magic wonderland
    Hu-hu-hu

When you’re the best of friends
    Sharing all that you discover
When that moment has passed, will that friendship last?
Who can say if there’s a way?
    Oh I hope . . . I hope it never ends
‘Cause you’re the best of friends

  105. Elimination – Lack of Education
Performed by: Big Mama (Pearl Bailey), Tod (Keith Michell), Boomer (Paul Winchell), Dinky (Dick Bakalyan)

    ——————————————————————————–

    Big Mama
You listen good to I, because it’s either education or elimination!

Now, if you’re so foxy and old Chief is so dumb
Then why does that hound get the fox on the run?
‘Cause he’s got the hunter –
and the hunter’s got the gun
    Ka-blam, elimination!
    Lack of education!

If you prowl around with that Copper hound
You’re soon gonna be hanging on the wall
Keep you nose to the wind –
if you wanna keep your skin
‘Cause you won’t be home –
when the hunter comes to call

    Tod
Oh, Big Mama, I know Copper would never track me down.
Well, Copper, he’s my best friend.

    Big Mama
    Ho ho, your best friend!
Now, Copper’s gonna do what he’s been told.
Suppose he won’t chase no fox in no fox hole?
Along comes the hunter with a buck shot load.

    Boomer
    Ka-ka-blam!

    Big Mama
    Elimination

    Dinky
    Lack of education!

    Big Mama
    You better believe it, Tod!

  107. [TIMON + PUMBAA]
And if they fall in love tonight (sniff)
    It can be assumed
His care-free days with us are history
In short our pal is doomed!

  108. Can you feel the love tonight
    The peace the evening brings
    The world for once
    In perfect harmony
    With all its living things
Can you feel the love tonight
    You needn’t look too far
    Speeling through
    The night’s uncertainties
    Love is where they are

  109. [NALA]
    He’s holding back he’s hiding
    But what I can’t decide
Why won’t he be the king I know he is
    The king I see inside?

  110. [SIMBA]
So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The truth about my past? Impossible!
    She’d turn away from me

  111. Can you feel the love tonight
    The peace the evening brings
    The world for once
    In perfect harmony
    With all its living things

  112. Can you Feel the Love Tonight (The Lion King)
I can see what’s happening (what?!)
And they don’t have a clue (who?!)
They’ll fall in love and here’s the bottom line
Our trio’s down to two (oh.)
    The sweet caress of twilight
    There’s magic everywhere
And with all this romantic atmosphere
    Disaster’s in the air!

  113. It is the circle of life
    And it moves us all
    Through despair and hope
    Through faith and love
    Till we find our place
    On the path unwinding
    In the circle
    The circle of life

It is the circle of life
    And it moves us all
    Through despair and hope
    Through faith and love
    Till we find our place
    On the path unwinding
    In the circle
    The circle of life

  114. My Fav…Lion king
From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see than can ever be seen
More to do that can ever be done
There’s far to much to take in here
More to find that can ever be found
    But the sun rolling high
    Through the saffari sky
Keeps great and small in the endless round

  115. Some Day my Prince will Come

    ——————————————————————————–

Some day my prince will come
    Some day we’ll meet again
And away to his castle we’ll go
To be happy forever I know

Some day when spring is here
    We’ll find our love anew
    And the birds will sing

  116. With a Smile and a Song

    ——————————————————————————–

With a smile and a song
Life is just a bright sunny day
    Your cares fade away
    And your heart is young

With a smile and a song
All the world seems to waken anew
    Rejoicing with you
    As the song is sung

    There’s no use in grumbling
    When the raindrops come tumbling
    Remember, you’re the one
Who can fill the world with sunshine

When you smile and you sing
Everything is in tune and it’s spring
    And life flows along
With a smile and a song

    (repeat)

I’d like to dance and tap my feet
But they won’t keep in rhythm
You see, I washed them both today
And I can’t do nothing with ’em

    Chorus
Ho hum the tune is dumb
The words don’t mean a thing
    Isn’t this a silly song
    For anyone to sing?

    I chased a polecat up a tree
Way out on upon a limb
And when he got the best of me
I got the worst of him

    (Chorus)

    (Yodel, etc.)

    Constant and true

    One love
    Thrilling me through

    Of one love
    Only for you
