Will Smith and Kevin Hart to Star in ‘Planes, Trains, and Automobiles’ Remake. The hit 1987 film Planes, Trains and Automobiles is getting a remake starring Will Smith and Kevin Hart. The comedic pair will be taking on the roles of Neal Page and Del Griffith in a rework of the original story from the movie. The original 1987 film starred Steve Martin and the late John Candy.
“Easily excitable Neal Page is somewhat of a control freak. Trying to get home to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his wife and kids, his flight is rerouted to a distant city in Kansas because of a freak snowstorm, and his sanity begins to fray. Worse yet, he is forced to bunk up with talkative Del Griffith, whom he finds extremely annoying. Together they must overcome the insanity of holiday travel to reach their intended destination.”
Aeysha Carr is set to pen the script for the remake. Hartbeat Productions (Kevin Hart) and Westbook Studios (Will Smith) will be acting as co-producers for the film as well as starring in the feature. Currently, there is no scheduled start date for filming or a theatrical release date window for the remake of Planes, Trains and Automobiles, but be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Entertainment!
