Marc Webb was at the Independent Spirit Awards last week and MTV news caught up with him to discuss the Spider-Man reboot. While discussing the fact it will be in 3-D, Marc drops the bombshell that he had met with James Cameron and his producing partner Jon Landau about the best way to bring “Spider-Man” into the 3-D realm. Here is what he had to say in regards to them meeting.
“I talked to James and Jon a little bit,” he confirmed. “It’s such an enormous undertaking. I’d like to talk to those guys more. They’re fantastic representatives for 3-D and we’ll be talking more about that.” “In the coming weeks, more will unfold”
Webb went on give some very vague answers about Joseph Gordon-Levitt being considered as Peter Parker, and whether the story would revolve around him as a teenager. Webb’s response to both of these questions was simply “We’re casting a wide net. That’s really all i can say at this point”. It’s pretty obvious that he doesn’t want to screw up his first huge gig by dropping any info before he is supposed to. Its going to be interested to see if he pulls some of the staff from “Avatar” or just goes at the 3-D portions with his own crew.
