The theme parks at the Disneyland Resort remain closed while waiting for the state to issue reopening guidelines. With other Disney parks around the world reopen, there is a lot of speculation about how Disneyland might reopen.
Hong Kong Disneyland recently reopened again and is the first Disney theme park to move away from being on a 7-day-a-week schedule upon returning from a coronavirus closure. The park will be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the initial reopening.
Other Disney theme parks around the world have reduced operating hours as well. France’s Walt Disney Studios Park will be open only five hours daily on select weekdays in October, November, and December. The parks at Walt Disney World will be seeing extended hours for the holidays but the hours are still reduced compared to before the COVID-19 closure.
The Orange County Register speculates that it would be highly unlikely for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to be closed on weekdays when they reopen. Disneyland is the second most-attended theme park in the world. There is a good chance Disneyland would be filled to a COVID-19 reduced capacity limit every day.
While it is unlikely, 2020 has been the year of the unexpected. There’s always a chance that California requires theme parks to reopen very slowly.
Would you go visit Disneyland if it was only open on the weekends?
