Will Chris Evans‘ Return Mean Captain America is a Skrull in the ‘Secret Invasion’ Series? Though Evans currently denies knowing anything about returning to the MCU as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, stating it’s “News to me” on Twitter this week. His brief appearance as Loki pretending to be Captain America in Thor: The Dark World has led fans to believe his return in a supporting role could mean that Cap may be impersonated by a Skrull in the upcoming Marvel Studios Original Disney+ Series, Secret Invasion.
It has been confirmed by Marvel Studios and Disney+ that Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will be reprising their roles as Nick Fury and Talos for the new series, but what other “heroes” may we see? According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, the answer is “potentially more than Endgame” as the Secret Invasion comics feature many more characters than the ones that inspired the Avengers: Endgame film. This also gives merit to the idea that we will at least get the chance of cameos from character we may think are gone, but have not been forgotten. Previously, Evans had shared he was done as The First Avenger, but likely he was not made aware of future plans for his character at the time and may be supportive enough of the idea now to make the triumphant return to the MCU.
