Why we are not fans of the New Kite Tails Roaming show. We are normally a very Disney-positive site. So having to write an article that I know is going to be negative, I tend not to enjoy that, but then comes along this new train wreck of a show. The revamped version of Disney’s Kite Tails at Animal Kingdom.
The show itself when it first premiered was a fun show aimed at the younger guest as well as the younger at heart guests. We enjoyed the pre-show and enjoyed watching the kid march around with hand kites of Finding Nemo. We enjoyed the elephants marching and the kites that looked like Crush and friends. Mostly we enjoyed the music and the show elements that made it cute. Each of the two stories, Lion King and Jungle Book, told a story with song and kites. All of that is now gone! Including some of the bigger kites like Simba as an Adult. Check out below for more info.

New Kite Tails

By gone, I mean none of that exists anymore. Replaced by a quick announcement that starts the show, a quick song from the movies, then the main kites fall into the landing zone. Then a finale that is just another kite in the air with another song from whichever movie the show is about.
Take for example New Kite Tails Lion King. The show immediately starts, no preshow, no drummers, no interaction. Simba and Zazu fly into the air to the song “I just can’t wait to be King”. Quickly to Simba being released to land in the said landing zone, or crash, you decide. Onto the Pumba and Timon kite to the song “Hakuna Matata”. Release Kite, End show, new announcement. What the Heck! Blarg! 5 minutes. You can watch the whole show below.
