Where does the Obi-Wan Kenobi series fall in the Star Wars timeline

It’s a big week for Star Wars fans! In a few days, we finally get to see the return of Ewan McGregor in the first two episodes of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series!

But where does the Obi-Wan Kenobi series fall in the Star Wars timeline. After all, it’s been 17 years since we last saw the actor as the Jedi Master.

First, the story is taking place during Kenobi’s exile on Tatooine. The trailer footage we’ve seen so far shows how the Inquisitors are in full swing, hunting anyone who they suspect is a Jedi or Jedi sympathizer. People are scared of the Empire, and the Imperials are using that fear to control everything. Obi-Wan will be torn between his duty to protect Luke and his responsibilities as a Jedi Master.

The new series takes place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, so a lot has changed in the galaxy. The Disney+ series is telling a story set about halfway between the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope. The events of the classic 1977 movie take place nine years after the new Disney+ show.

Are you a fan of Star Wars animation? If you want further clarification, Kenobi’s series is set roughly five years before the first episode of the Rebels cartoon series.

The Grand Inquisitor, member of the Jedi hunters first glimpsed in Star Wars Rebels, is set to make his live-action debut played by Rupert Friend, with Sung Kang debuting the role of Fifth Brother from the series.

Other confirmed cast members include Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Owen and Beru Lars, with Jackson, Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, and Maya Erskine in undisclosed roles. There are rumors that Qui-Gon Jinn (played by Liam Neeson in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace) will appear, but time will tell what happens in the series.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available on the premiere day, May 20th, instead of only one, with subsequent episodes debuting each Wednesday.
