What is New this Fall at Walt Disney World?

The fall season is always a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. This fall, that is especially true with so many new things coming. What is new this fall at Walt Disney World? Check out this list!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will have a new fireworks show

This year, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party has a new fireworks show. This new show will include projections and other special effects while telling the story of Mickey and friends, as they go on a Halloween adventure trick-or-treating to a mysterious haunted house! The party will be held on select nights starting August 16 and running through November 1.

There will be a record number of days for Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

Starting on August 29, this festival features food, wine, music, and more. This year, it will run for a record 87 days, ending on November 23 and will feature 30-plus marketplaces with options for the whole family. With special merchandise, the Eat to the Beat concert series and much more, this will be a great time for everyone!


“Illuminations: Reflections of the Earth” will end on October 1

The nighttime show that has been delighting guests for nearly 20 years will come to an end this fall, with the last showing occurring on September 30. “Epcot Forever” will debut on October 1, as the all-new, limited-time nighttime spectacular. This new show will feature the beloved music of Epcot as it celebrates the past, present, and future with fireworks, special effects and even kites!

There is a new NBA experience at Disney Springs and more

Starting in August, guests can visit Disney Springs and experience a whole new destination, transforming them into NBA all-stars. Guests can choose from 13 interactive and hands-on activities to experience all of the thrills of the NBA and WNBA!

In addition the new NBA experience, there are new fall looks coming to the shops and the newest restaurant, Jaleo, is sure to please with authentic Spanish cuisine. Be sure to stop at one of the many fall backdrops to take some fun photos too!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will take you to a whole new world

Opening August 29, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge allows guests to travel to Batuu and have their own galactic adventure. The first new attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, will give guests control of the legendary spaceship. The second attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, is expected to open later in 2019. There will also be new dining experiences and plenty of other opportunities to become immersed in this new land.

Disney Skyliner Soars

The much anticipated Disney Skyliner, the new gondola system, is expected to open this fall. This new method of Disney transportation will connect four different Disney resort hotels – Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Caribbean Beach, and Disney’s Riviera resorts- making it even easier to travel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Some of the gondolas also feature well-known Disney characters in the exterior design.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Features Updated Nighttime Show

Rivers of Light is the nighttime show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, celebrating nature with lights, water and other special effects. Coming soon, a new version of this show will begin – Rivers of Light: We are One – featuring beloved characters from the Disneynature series and classic moments from Disney animation.

Disney Resort News

Soon, there will be even more reasons to stay at a Disney resort. Guests visiting Disney’s Coronado Springs this fall can experience the all-new Gran Destino Tower, featuring 15 stories, 500-plus guestrooms, and a new rooftop restaurant! At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, guests can enjoy a new waterfront shopping and dining area and in mid-December, Disney’s Riviera Resort will open.

Disney Wine & Dine Half-Marathon Celebrates 10 Years

The 2019 Disney Wine & Dine Half-Marathon weekend is October 31-November 3. This year, there will a 5K where guests can run, jog or walk around Epcot, a 10K, half-marathon and kids’ races. At the post-race party, guests will enjoy after-hours access to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and select attractions.

  1. I haven’t gotten to be in Disney for any of the events but ive heard such wonderful things. The thing Disney always knocks it out of the ballpark with is their fireworks so im sure it will be amazing!

  2. There is so many exciting things happening this year at Walt Disney World! My two favorites are the opening of Star Wars Land & the new fireworks show during MNSSHP! I am also hoping that by having the new skyliner it will reduce a lot of traffic on the roads & keep the buses less crowded! #DisneyVacayGiveaway

  3. I’m a bit bummed about Illuminations ending, as I fell in love with the music. Disney is great with music, so I’m sure it will be replaced with something just as good! I’m also glad that they extended Food and Wine festival! It’s such an experience #DisneyVacayGiveaway
