My family and I became Disneyland Annual Pass holders for the first time last December. We have loved it! But it’s sometimes difficult to remember that your annual pass gives you more than just park admission. Here’s some ways to get the most out of your Disneyland Annual Pass.
1. Discounts on food, merchandise and hotel stays!
Now, you won’t get a discount on EVERYTHING, but you’ll get some great savings using your annual pass on merchandise purchases and at most counter and table service dining experiences. Don’t hesitate to show your annual pass at the registers! Not every cast member will ask for it and some discounts will get overlooked. Also, keep in mind, your pass won’t get you a discount on alcoholic beverages purchased in Disney California Adventure.
Another great discount pass holders get is on hotel stays at the Disneyland Resort hotels. Log into your AP account to see what discounts are available for your next stay!
2. Discounts on Guided Tours
Disneyland Resort offers a number of guided tours at the parks and AP holders get a discount. I have always wanted to take the “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” tour and experience the park the way Walt did. Or you can see how the Golden State influenced Walt on the “Disney California Story” tour at Disney California Adventure.
3. Exclusive Merchandise
The main AP exclusive merchandise items are pins. Every few weeks a new AP-exclusive pin is released. Look for the “Limited” display with pins labeled “Annual Passholder” or ask a Cast Member for assistance. Sometimes Disney will release other AP-exclusive merchandise. A few years ago there were old fashioned glasses featuring characters available to passholders.
4. Early Registration for runDisney events
If you are a runner and are a Disneyland AP, make sure to take advantage of the early registration offered! There are so many runDisney events at Disneyland and they fill up fast. Early registration is limited but don’t be discouraged if you miss out! That just means you have 2 opportunities to register.
5. Free Movie Screenings
Recently Annual Passholders were given the opportunity to see an exclusive screening of Disney/Pixar’s “Inside Out” at AMC Downtown Disney. These events require registration due to their popularity and they fill up quickly! Be sure to check out the Disneyland Annual Passholders Facebook page for more event information.
6. Attraction & Show Previews
When a new attraction premiers at Disneyland, APs are often the first to experience it. For example, “The Little Mermaid” attraction was opened to Annual Passholders before it opened to the public. There are also show previews occasionally offered to Annual Passholders. Both “Glow with the Show” viewings of World of Color and Fantasmic! were offered to APs first. It would be amazing to get to experience an attraction before everyone else!
7. Limited Time Event Offerings
Disneyland often offers limited time events. Every Wednesday until July 22nd, Annual Passholders can go to the Opera House on Main Street, U.S.A. for screenings of “Wednesdays with Walt”. You’ll enjoy highlights from the “Disneyland” TV series and look back on the history of Disney.
When deciding if purchasing an Annual Pass is right for you, remember you won’t just be buying park admission for a year. You get so much more that adds to your Disneyland experience. I’d love to help you plan your next magical Disney vacation!! Email me today for more information.
