Brrrr! Florida just had a cold snap causing the water parks to close today, January, 10, 2019! As of right now at the time of this press release the temperature is at a cool 53 degrees out! With the temperatures only expecting to be at the high of 60 degrees, the decision for the local water parks to close was an easy one.
This cold snap has caused the following water parks to close for today, SeaWorld’s Aquatica, Universal’s Volcano Bay, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Reminder, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is closed for its annual refurbishment and was not included in this closure.
Don’t worry if you were still planning on visiting those water parks this week or next. It looks as if the weather will be going back up over the next few days! Which means the water parks will be open for guests again tomorrow, Friday, January 11, 2019! Saturday and Sunday look like great days to visit the water parks!! The temperatures will be between 75 to 80 degrees! Not bad for January. I mean in New Hampshire right now we are snowing with 29 degrees, yay me….
However, looking ahead there could potentially be another closure for the water parks. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 is only going to have a high of 63 degrees. Could this be another day the water parks will close?! I guess we will find out soon enough, in the meantime enjoy this weekend’s weather! Happy swimming!
