There was a bit of a mixup yesterday for Marvel fans. The Hollywood Reporter initially said that the upcoming MCU series WandaVision is being pushed back until Spring 2021. After further clarification, it’s been assured that the Disney+ series is still set for a December 2020 release.
Earlier this weekend, confusion surfaced when the media source suggested the series had been delayed due to ongoing production shutdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it a challenging year for TV and movie production companies. It’s led to unprecedented delays in filming due to health and safety concerns. The delays have also created uncertainty about scheduled release dates. The Hollywood Reporter writer, Borys Kit, has now clarified he mistakenly used the original date for the WandaVision series. He corrected his mistake by acknowledging the revised debut date revealed by Disney earlier this year.
“I’ve made a correction to the article saying WandaVision is due to come out in 2020,” Kit tweeted Saturday afternoon.
The Disney+ series will star Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis, from Thor), Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo from Ant-Man and The Wasp), Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau from Captain Marvel), and Kathryn Hahn, in an unannounced role.
