The Walt Disney Family Museum is pleased to announce that it will hold its third annual fundraising gala on November 7, 2017. The event will honor John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, with the Diane Disney Miller Lifetime Achievement Award. The accolade recognizes individuals who have made an outstanding impact in the field of arts, education, community involvement, and technological advancements.
John Lasseter is being recognized for his contributions to the entertainment industry and for his extraordinary leadership and innovative storytelling, which have been instrumental in elevating and distinguishing the world of animation.
The gala is presented by the Board of Directors of The Walt Disney Family Museum, with Golden Globe-nominated actress Bonnie Hunt acting as the Master of Ceremonies. Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, prolific songwriters known for their Academy Award®-winning songs from Disney’s Frozen, will perform as special guests.
“I have had the absolute privilege of working with John Lasseter and experiencing the creative genius he brings to the worlds of Pixar and Disney,” said Bonnie Hunt. “I am thrilled to join The Walt Disney Family Museum in recognizing his achievements and celebrating the opportunities that the museum provides for young and aspiring artists.”
Proceeds from the gala support the museum’s programs and activities that nurture the next generation of creative talent. The gala will take place at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio of San Francisco, a short distance from the museum. Attendance is limited to 180 guests.
The Gala will take place Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 6pm at the Golden Gate Club 135 in San Francisco, California.
