The Walt Disney Company Dominates Emmy Nominations with Staggering 137 Nods
The Walt Disney Company is celebrating an extraordinary achievement, proudly announcing a remarkable 137 nominations for the upcoming 77th Emmy® Awards. This impressive tally spans across its diverse portfolio of content brands and studios, including ABC, Disney Branded Television, Disney’s FX, Disney+, Disney Television Studios (20th Television Animation and 20th Television), FX Productions, Hulu, Hulu Originals, National Geographic, and Onyx Collective, as well as The Walt Disney Studios’ Lucasfilm, Marvel Animation, Marvel Television, Searchlight Pictures, and Walt Disney Pictures. Notably, Disney’s formidable streaming platforms, Disney+ and Hulu, collectively account for 128 of these prestigious nominations.

ABC Leads Broadcast Networks: ABC has emerged as a powerhouse among broadcast networks, securing an impressive 38 nominations. The critically acclaimed 20th Television series Abbott Elementary continues its Emmy success with its fourth consecutive nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series. Long-running late-night staple Jimmy Kimmel Live earned its 14th nod for Outstanding Talk Series.

ABC also showcased its dominance in game show categories, capturing four of the five nominations for both Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Host for Game Show. This includes first-time nominations in this category for Elizabeth Banks for Press Your Luck and Jimmy Kimmel for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Furthermore, 20th Television’s Will Trent received its inaugural nomination for Outstanding Choreography for Scripted Programming.
FX’s Critical Acclaim Continues: Disney’s FX garnered a strong 35 nominations, with five nominations specifically for Outstanding Program categories, spanning Comedy Series (two), Limited Series, Documentary Series, and Unstructured Reality Series. The impactful Limited Series nominee Dying for Sex (20th Television) led the charge with nine nominations, including those for Series, Lead Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Writing, and Directing. The beloved comedy What We Do in the Shadows, in its sixth and final season, also earned six total nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.






The Walt Disney Studios Shines: The Walt Disney Studios proudly holds 25 nominations, a testament to its compelling storytelling across various genres. Lucasfilm’s Andor had a stellar showing, achieving a series-high of 14 nominations for its final season, cementing its place as an Emmy favorite.



The studio also received recognition for Music by John Williams and the highly anticipated The Acolyte. Marvel Television earned nominations for Agatha All Along, while Marvel Animation was recognized for What If…?. Additionally, Walt Disney Pictures received a nomination for Beatles ’64.

Hulu Originals’ Breakthrough Year: Hulu Originals celebrated a strong year with 22 total nominations. The freshman drama series Paradise from Dan Fogelman (20th Television) made a significant impact with four nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and acting nods for Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, and Julianne Nicholson. The social sensation The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives secured its first nomination for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program.

Hulu also marked its first foray into stand-up comedy nominations with Bill Burr: Drop Dead Years, and 20th Television’s Only Murders in the Building received its fourth consecutive nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series. Searchlight Pictures also earned a nomination for The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat.

National Geographic’s Continued Excellence: National Geographic secured five nominations, notably including Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special for Tucci in Italy and Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program for Life Below Zero, marking the series’ 11th consecutive nomination in that category. Idris Elba also earned a nomination for Outstanding Narrator for Erased: WW2’s Heroes of Color.

Disney Branded Television and Onyx Collective Make Their Mark: Disney Branded Television continued its recent Emmy success with four nominations, including three for the live concert special The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, and a nomination for the long-running action-adventure series Doctor Who. Onyx Collective, following the Oscar® win for its debut title Summer of Soul (…or When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised), scored again with director Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson’s follow-up documentary Sly Lives! (aka The Burden of Black Genius).

Disney Television Studios’ Broad Recognition: Disney Television Studios boasts 45 Emmy nominations, including six Outstanding Program nominations. This includes 20th Television Animation’s Bob’s Burgers and The Simpsons for Outstanding Animated Program.
Furthermore, with 20th Television’s Outstanding Drama Series nomination for Paradise (Hulu Originals) and Outstanding Comedy Series nomination for Only Murders in the Building (Hulu Originals), creator and executive producer Dan Fogelman achieves the rare feat of being a double nominee across both Outstanding Series categories in the same year. 20th Television’s Abbott Elementary and Nobody Wants This were also recognized with Outstanding Comedy Series nominations.
The 77th Emmy® Awards will celebrate these outstanding achievements in television on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 8:00 PM EDT.
