Walls Go Up at EPCOT‘s New Spaceship Earth Lounge

Excitement is brewing at EPCOT as construction progresses on the newly announced Spaceship Earth Lounge. First revealed during Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this past summer, the lounge promises to bring an elegant new gathering space to the park, inspired by the iconic geometric design of Spaceship Earth itself.

The new Spaceship Earth Lounge will join another highly anticipated addition: a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern at Magic Kingdom, which has already begun construction. While the tavern leans into swashbuckling fun, the Spaceship Earth Lounge takes a different approach, embracing an atmosphere of sophisticated relaxation. Designed to evoke a zen-like retreat, the lounge will feature rich textures and warm metallic tones that reflect the mysterious and timeless elegance of Spaceship Earth’s facade. It’s set to become a unique sanctuary where guests can unwind and enjoy refreshments amidst EPCOT’s vibrant energy.

Construction walls have now appeared near Spaceship Earth, signaling significant progress on the project. The lounge will occupy the former corporate lounge space overlooking the World Celebration neighborhood, offering what is sure to be stunning views of EPCOT’s newly reimagined hub area. Meanwhile, work on the entrance has temporarily altered the flow of traffic for Spaceship Earth visitors. Guests exiting the attraction now follow a detour through the World Nature neighborhood, as the usual pathway through the Project Tomorrow post-show area is closed off.

Disney has confirmed that the Spaceship Earth Lounge is slated to open in late spring 2025, just in time to welcome summer guests. This addition is part of EPCOT’s broader transformation, which has brought thrilling new experiences to the park while honoring its legacy of innovation and discovery.
