Construction Walls Appear in Lost Continent at Islands of Adventure
The Lost Continent at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is finally living up to its name. Just days after Universal confirmed that “construction activity” would be coming to the long-dormant land, the first construction walls have gone up, signaling that big changes are on the horizon.

Large tan walls with blue signs reading “Set Enhancement in Progress” now line the wooden bridge connecting Seuss Landing to Lost Continent. The signs bear the Islands of Adventure logo and are tied into place with rope along the bridge’s railing. Behind the barriers, planks and early prep work can already be spotted.

Another set of walls has popped up near the defunct Poseidon’s Fury attraction, this one blocking the former exit on the left side of the building. Poseidon’s Fury permanently closed in May 2023, leaving behind a gaping hole in the land’s offerings. With construction now surrounding the space, it seems its ruins are finally set to crumble.

This comes on the heels of a demolition permit filed earlier this month for nearly five acres of Universal Orlando property. While Universal has not officially revealed what’s coming next, the timing of the permit and the start of on-site work suggest the Lost Continent is about to be lost for good.
