On August 19th Actress Irene Bedard was arrested for “disorderly conduct” in Xenia, Ohio. Reportedly, Police responded to an incident they witnessed between Bedard and an unidentified woman and arrested Irene after she refused assistance and “walked out into the street screaming, without any regard for traffic.” The police report also stated Irene had a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath.”
Additionally the officer wrote, “When asked if she drank anything today, she said that she didn’t. But, she did say that she drank a whole bottle of vodka yesterday. I attempted to try to get her to give me a name of someone who could come and care for her, but she would not give me anything. I also offered to take her to the hospital. But, she said the hospital wouldn’t help her.“

Initially officers offered to call someone to pick up Irene, but then she became irate and her “emotions changed rapidly“. The officer indicated that Bedard “would be talking to us calmly” then “quickly become upset and crying” as they spoke. The woman who was with Bedard during the incident shared a name of someone who could be contacted to help Irene, but Bedard “yelled that she didn’t want that person called and ran away from [Police] screaming.”
When listing a reason for the arrest, the office noted “While escorting Irene to my cruiser, she became dead weight and had to be held up, Due to Irene’s uncooperativeness, I transported her directly to the Greene County Jail.” Currently, Bedard’s arraignment is set for August 29th.
