Ravensburger Announces New Ursulas Return Lorcana Set Coming this May
Ravensburger, renowned for its exceptional games, puzzles, and toys, hosted its inaugural Disney Lorcana Lorecast livestream event, unveiling exciting updates to the immensely popular Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game (TCG) series. Among the announcements were new expansions to the game, including the eagerly awaited Ursula’s Return, the fourth installment in the Disney Lorcana TCG series. This expansion introduces a host of beloved Disney characters and enhances gameplay mechanics, further enriching the narrative woven through the previous sets.
One of the highlights of Ursula’s Return is the introduction of Ursula, Disney’s sinister sea witch, who, having escaped in the second set, Rise of the Floodborn, is now poised to enact her schemes to dominate Lorcana. This set promises to delve deeper into the lore of Lorcana and the Illumineers who have been summoned there.
While specific details about gameplay and new franchises are yet to be revealed, Ravensburger has confirmed the inclusion of highly anticipated characters such as Bruno and the Madrigal family from Disney’s Encanto, along with iconic figures like Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey and Yen Sid from Disney’s Fantasia.

Ursula’s Return will be available in various formats, including Starter Decks featuring combinations of Amethyst & Amber or Sapphire & Steel cards, Booster Packs, and an Illumineer’s Trove, accompanied by essential accessories like Card Sleeves, Deck Boxes, and Playmats. All cards from this set can be seamlessly integrated into existing Disney Lorcana TCG decks or combined with those from previous releases.
In addition to the expansion, Ravensburger introduces Illumineer’s Quest “Deep Trouble,” the first cooperative game in the Disney Lorcana TCG series. Players can join forces to confront Ursula in an epic battle, navigating through challenges and obstacles she has orchestrated to thwart their efforts. The game offers adjustable difficulty levels, ensuring an engaging experience for players of all skill levels.

Moreover, Disney Lorcana enthusiasts can look forward to the Disney Lorcana Challenge, a competitive event circuit set to commence on May 25. Participants will vie for exclusive prizes, including special promo cards and extended art versions of popular cards.
Three sets of Disney Lorcana TCG have been released so far — The First Chapter, Rise of the Floodborn and Into the Inklands — with three more sets, including Ursula’s Return, to be released in 2024. There will be two brand-new standalone products released this year: Disney Lorcana TCG Gateway, a progressive learn-to-play experience designed to ease new players into the game and TCG space, and the Illumineer’s Quest “Deep Trouble,” a cooperative game that has players facing off against an Ursula glimmer with unprecedented power.
Ravensburger will also launch an official Disney Lorcana TCG competitive circuit, Disney Lorcana Challenge, in North America and Europe starting in May 2024. The challenge will kick off with events in Atlanta, USA, and Lille, France, offering players the chance to showcase their skills and compete for prestigious rewards.
