‘Upside Down Magic’ Star Siena Agudong Rumored to be Cast as Lilo in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Movie. Before we dive too far into this, please note this is strictly a rumor at this time and no confirmation has been made by Disney. Less than a week after Jon M Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) was announced as director for the live-action adaption of Lilo & Stitch it seems Disney may have found their Lilo!

According to The DisInsider, Hawaiian actress and recent star of the Disney Channel Original Movie Upside Down MagicSiena Agudong, is rumored to have been cast as Lilo in the upcoming film. Agudong is 16-years old and notable much older than Lilo in the movie who we know to be 6-years old in the movie, but film makers and Disney representatives assure the integrity of the story is being kept by the developers, despite the change in age for the character. As a note, this isn’t uncommon in entertainment when you need to be sure a certain level of acting direction can be taken, especially with such a beloved story by fans.

The remake will be a hybrid of live-action and CGI for the alien characters. Fans of the animated movie will be delighted to hear that the original voice of Stitch, Chris Sanders, is said to reprise his role and voice Stitch once again for the film. Mike Van Waes has penned the script for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie. Studio executives Zoe Kent and Louie Provost are in charge of this movie’s production. Both Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are set to produce the live-action remake.

A tale of a young girl’s close encounter with the galaxy’s most wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly “dog,” whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren’t in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith and unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch’s heart and gives him the ability to care for someone else.

Lilo & Stitch, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, Leroy & Stitch, Stitch! The Movie, and Lilo & Stitch: The Series are all available to stream on Disney+. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Disney!
