Cold temperatures are expected across Central Florida as we head into New Year’s weekend, with overnight lows in the 40’s and daytime highs only in the 50’s. The cold temps are resulting in an adjustment in operating hours for a popular local waterpark.

Universal Orlando has announced Volcano Bay will close for the rest of the week due to the cold weather, specifically noting the park will be closed from Thursday, December 28 through Saturday, December 30.

No word on operating hours past December 30, but given the forecast it would be surprising if the park were to open for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.
