Epic Universe Adds Solar-Powered Shade to Parking Lot Ahead of Grand Opening
Universal Orlando’s highly anticipated Epic Universe is nearing its grand debut, and the latest update from the park involves a greener, guest-friendly enhancement—solar panels in the parking lot! Thanks to aerial photos shared by X user bioreconstruct, we now have a bird’s-eye view of the newly installed solar panels that will provide both power and shade for the Prime parking section near the park’s entrance.

While only a few rows of solar panels are visible in the latest images, supports for additional installations can be seen throughout the lot, suggesting more are on the way. The placement of these panels near the entrance has led to speculation that they will generate renewable energy for the area while doubling as shaded parking, a welcome feature for guests visiting the park under Florida’s sweltering sun.
This update comes just weeks after Universal introduced a new fleet of electric buses that will run a loop between Epic Universe and CityWalk, reinforcing the company’s push for more sustainable transportation and infrastructure ahead of the park’s opening.

Speaking of the big debut, Epic Universe is set to open in just over two months, and excitement is building. Team Member previews are currently underway, and while there’s no official word yet, speculation is swirling that Annual Passholder previews could be on the horizon before the grand opening.
