Unforgettable Mother’s Day Luau at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs: Immerse Yourself in Asian-Pacific Culture. Disney Springs’ Morimoto Asia hosts its annual luau on Sunday, May 14th, featuring a traditional Hawaiian party’s delicious food, excitement, and festivities. We were invited over and enjoyed a beautiful Mother’s Day with the Mom in our life.
Immerse yourself in Asian-Pacific culture with a Hawaiian-inspired poke and sushi bar, Kahuku Food Trucks’ famous garlic shrimp, Morimoto-style baby ribs, a whole roasted pig, and an assortment of desserts including pineapple tarts and butter mochi. Enjoy captivating performances by a live band and hula dancers during your lunch.

We had the pleasure of living in Maui, HI for a few years, and what is considered high culinary here, is everyday food on the Islands. For example, the Spam musubi teriyaki sauce can be found at convenience stores. The big difference here is the flavor. The Mini loco moco, mushroom gravy is a staple of morning food all throughout the island chain. Again, the huge difference is the quality and the taste.
If it was just those two dishes served we would have left full and happy, but then we went and had the Morimoto baby ribs and hoisin chili. I have never tasted such a beautifully flavored and cooked rib in my life. I will now add this to my top foods at Disney World.

Of course, there was so much more to try and many flavors to enjoy. From the fresh made-to-order sushi and sashimi, to the Roasted pig and cabbage, we experienced what a highly rated (for a reason) restaurant can do with truly good ingredients and inspired chefs.
Let us not forget about the amazing desserts offered up at the end of our meal. Pineapple tarts: caramel cream, vanilla tart shells, Mango parfait: mango mousse, raspberries. Passionfruit pops: white chocolate, passionfruit puree, pop sticks, white truffle shells, and heavy cream could be one of our new favorite desserts. Small and what we would think is simple, is full of flavor without killing us with sugar.
Morimoto Asia is our first collaboration with Japanese Master Chef Masaharu Morimoto, one of the most inventive culinarians in Asian cuisine. This pan-Asian destination includes mouth-watering traditions such as Peking duck carving and dim sum.
Morimoto Asia’s 36-foot tall, two-story layout includes lounges, private dining spaces, and a glass-encased kitchen that gives guests a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the culinary action, or “food theater,” as we like to call it. The second-level sushi bar and lounge have a separate entrances.
