Tyra Banks Announced as New Host for ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’. After 28 seasons of hosting, Tom Bergeron has announced he is leaving Dancing With The Stars on ABC, as well as co-host Erin Andrews who joined Bergeron on DWTS in Season 18. Though the news seemed to drop out of nowhere, ABC was quick to announce a new host.

Supermodel and actress Tyra Banks has been selected to join the cast of Dancing with the Stars for season 29. The news was shared via DWTS social media pages with the caption, “Please join us in welcoming Tyra Banks as #DWTS host. Thank you to Tom and Erin for so many seasons of glitz, glamour, and good times!”

Bergeron shared the news via Twitter, stating: “Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?”

Erin also made an announcement later in the day saying in a screenshot, “Thank you ABC and the entire Dancing with the Stars family for 6memorable seasons. Those years wouldn’t have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers, and witty judges. I will always cherish my days on that set, even if I wasn;t the best at walking in heels.”
