Try This At Home: Epcot Cronut Recipe!

Craving a donut? but also a croissant? why not have both with a CRONUT from Epcot at Walt Disney World!

Usually you would be able to find this delicious treat at the Refreshment Port at Epcot but since we can’t visit the parks for now, why not have some fun and recreate this at home?

Transport yourself to World Showcase with this easy recipe! Take a look:


INGREDIENTS:

  • Dough For Cronut
    • Canola oil
    • 2 (8oz) cans of Pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
    • 1 (4oz) snack-size container of vanilla pudding
  • Decoration
    • 6 cups of powdered sugar, divided
    • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
    • 1 cup of milk
    • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
    • 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
    • 1 lemon (juice and zest separated)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Dough
    • Grab a deep saucepan and pour at least 2 inch of oil
    • Heat over medium heat to 350F
    • Divide the Pillsbury dough into sets of two triangles
    • Press the perforated line together to seal and form a rectangle
    • Then stack two rectangles on top of each other and press them together
    • Fold widthwise and press down again
    • Using a 3 inch biscuit cutter cut a circle on each rectangle and then use a 1 inch cutter to cut a hole in the middle
    • Keep the remaining dough
    • Fry the dough in hot oil for about 45 to 90 seconds on each side or until they are golden brown
    • Drain them on paper towels and let them cool before glazing
  • Vanilla Glaze
    • Mix 4 cups of powdered sugar with the vanilla extract and milk adding 1 tbs at a time until the mix is smooth and has a glaze like consistency
  • Cinnamon Sugar
    • Combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon together
  • Lemon Glaze
    • Mix the remaining 2 cups of powdered sugar with the lemon juice and half of the lemon zest until you have a glaze like consistency
    • Reserve the remaining lemon zest for garnish later
  • Time To Assemble Your Cronut!
    • Split the croissant donut in half and fill it with 2 tbs of vanilla pudding in the center
    • Press them back together and drizzle some lemon glaze on top
    • Add the cinnamon sugar on top
    • Enjoy!
