Tron ride construction is ramping up at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. While in the Fastpass line for barnstormer with my toddler, I noticed a lot of buzz on the other side of the Magic Kingdom train tracks. Ride construction on Tron has really started to rev up.
With a timeline of opening in 2021 to celebrate the Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary, things are starting to take shape. The new coaster is being built in a new area next to Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. To accommodate the space needed for the ride, the Walt Disney World Railroad and Tomorrowland Speedway will be temporarily closing late 2018/early 2019.
After the big reveal at the D23 Expo (2017) that Tron would be added to the Magic Kingdom, the excitement has been building. Is it 2021 yet?! I can NOT wait to ride Tron. Are you also counting down the days until Tron opens? Post in the comments below!
