Nine Inch Nails Releases “TRON: Ares” Soundtrack — Their First Album in Five Years
The grid just got a whole lot darker. The highly anticipated “TRON: Ares” Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, composed entirely by Nine Inch Nails, has officially dropped via Interscope Records. This 24-track album marks the band’s first new music in five years and their first-ever film score released under the Nine Inch Nails name.

Known for pushing sonic boundaries, bandmates Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have already made their mark on Hollywood with award-winning scores for films like The Social Network and Soul. But for TRON: Ares, they’ve gone full NIN, crafting a relentless soundscape of pulsating synths, distorted layers, and haunting melodies — with not a single note of orchestral music in the mix.
The result is an album that feels as alive and menacing as the digital world itself. It’s heavy, industrial, and unmistakably Nine Inch Nails — while still expanding the scope of what a film soundtrack can be.
Highlights include:
- “As Alive As You Need Me to Be” – the first single featuring vocals that already has fans buzzing.
- “I Know You Can Feel It” and “Who Wants to Live Forever?” – two more vocal-driven tracks that inject raw emotion into the otherwise brutal electronic score.
- Atmospheric standouts like “Echoes” and “Ghost in the Machine” perfectly marry the melancholy and menace of the TRON universe.

The film itself, Disney’s “TRON: Ares”, opens in theaters on October 10, 2025, directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges. The story follows Ares, a highly advanced Program sent into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
With Nine Inch Nails providing the sonic backbone, fans can expect a TRON experience that’s darker, louder, and more visceral than ever before.
