Some fun facts from 1973 include:

Disney just passed the 10 Million attendance mark a year ago. The newest rides featured at Disneyworld were Pirates of the Caribbean, Swan Boats, and Tom Sawyer Island. Shades of Green resort opened which is an Armed Forces Recreation Center. Finally Donald Duck would be turning 40 the following year.
