Toy Story 4 Surpasses $1 Billion at the Global Box Office

Toy Story 4 Surpasses $1 Billion at the Global Box Office. The summer blockbuster, Toy Story 4 went to infinity and beyond the expectations of Disney and Pixar by reaching over $1 billion at the global box office this week.

The fourth installment in the Toy Story franchise has become the next Disney film to surpass $1 billion at the global box office and joins the ranks of several other Disney related titles in 2019, making Disney the most successful film studio in history. Other titles that have made $1 billion or more at the global box office are: Captain Marvel, Aladdin (2019), Avengers: Endgame, and The Lion King (2019).

Partnered with Sony, Disney and Marvel Studios also saw Spider-Man: Far From Home reach this milestone as well. As if all of this was not enough, Disney has several big title films set to debut later in 2019, including: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (Oct 18), Frozen 2 (Nov 22), and Star Wars: Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker (Dec 20) which are all predicted to do very well, with Frozen 2 and Star Wars: Episode IX expected to join the “billion dollar club” for Disney and Lucasfilm.

In a synopsis of the Disney-Pixar film, “Toy Story 4 follows Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang as they embark on a road trip with Bonnie and a new toy named Forky. The adventurous journey turns into an unexpected reunion as Woody’s slight detour leads him to his long-lost friend Bo Peep. As Woody and Bo discuss the old days, they soon start to realize that they’re worlds apart when it comes to what they want from life as a toy.”
