Disney’s Tour de Turtles: A 17-Year Commitment to Sea Turtle Conservation

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is once again making waves in sea turtle conservation as it kicks off the 17th annual Tour de Turtles. This year, the Disney Conservation Team is celebrating a remarkable milestone: over 22,000 sea turtle nests recorded and an estimated 1.8 million hatchlings successfully released into the ocean since the program’s inception.

Two lucky sea turtles named EBB and FLO will embark on an epic journey as they are fitted with satellite transmitters. This exciting event, in partnership with the Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC), marks the beginning of another year of tracking and studying these magnificent creatures.

By following EBB and FLO’s migrations, scientists will gain valuable insights into sea turtle behavior, which will inform Disney’s ongoing conservation efforts.

Disney is thrilled to continue their commitment to sea turtle conservation through the Tour de Turtles. This program is not only a testament to Disney’s dedication to protecting these incredible creatures, but also a wonderful opportunity to educate and inspire guests about the importance of preserving our oceans.

Disney’s partnership with the Sea Turtle Conservancy extends beyond the Tour de Turtles. Through the Disney Cruise Line and Disney Conservation Fund, the company has proudly sponsored two sea turtles in this year’s race: EBB and FLO.
