Touchstone Pictures has a new animated movie “Strange Magic” coming to theatres January 23, 2015. Inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” this fairy tale musical with songs from the past six decades, tells the story of a group of goblins, elves, fairies and imps and their hilarious misadventures over the battle for a powerful potion.
The animation and special effects for “Strange Magic” are bound to be amazing. The story by George Lucas who is the executive producer, is directed by Gary Rydstrom and produced by Mark S. Miller. The screenplay by David Berenbaum, Irene Mecchi and Rydstrom includes an extraordinary cast of film, television and Broadway stars including Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph , Sam Palladio , newcomer Meredith Anne Bull, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein and Peter Stormare. Well-known music producer Marius de Vries (“Moulin Rouge”) serves as both the musical director and composer. With such a talented cast and crew “Strange Magic” will be an instant favorite.
