Topolino’s Terrace Socially Distanced Character Breakfast Review

Topolino’s Terrace Socially Distanced Character Breakfast Review

Saturday we revisited one of our favorite character dining meals to see how the experience has changed due to social distancing and new safety procedures. Topolino’s Terrace breakfast was currently the only character meal open on property. (Garden Grill at Epcot is gearing to reopen tomorrow, July 15th when the park reopens.) Here’s our experience when this new way of character dining and our feelings if it’s still worth it. And yes, masks are required in all areas unless you are eating or drinking.

As soon as you get to the elevators to take you to the floor that Topolino’s is on you are greeted by a sign for a virtual check-in. You scan the QR code and follow the prompts. They will text you when your table is ready and then head to the regular check-in spot. There’s no need to line up upstairs and wait around. After you have your message and they seat you, you are given a piece of paper with another QR code. This one is your new menu.

All table service restaurants at Walt Disney World are using these. A menu will come up on your phone. Also I’d like to note that there are tables that are reserved for social distancing once inside. They are spacing out guests once sat down.

The good news is POG juice and pastry service is still here! My family loves the pastries that come in the cute paint bucket.

The Character Experience

Our favorite characters are also still there in their precious outfits. They no longer come to each table. They come out as a group for their song and then walk around the restaurant one by one. They do pose for pictures but not close to your table. Yes it’s not the same and we missed the hugs but my two little boys still really loved it. It was great to see them and wave and interact, even if from afar.

Dining Options

The food was still excellent! The adult entrees are $42 and the kids are $27. It’s a fixed price you just pick from the list of entrees given. The kids’ Mickey and Minnie waffles come like little ice cream and have a plate of dipping sauce. They were a big hit.

Overall the experience was different but we still had such an amazing time. The food was incredible and the service was excellent. It’s definitely still one of our favorite spots to eat. We’re curious to see if places like Chef Mickey change their buffet setup and see if they reopen as well.

If you’re planning a trip I definitely recommend this breakfast. The views are amazing and it’s just a really fun time.
