The Disneyland Resort has a second theme park called Disney’s California Adventure. This park is just as exciting and magical as the original theme park, Disneyland! I put together a list of the top attractions at Disney’s California Adventure to help you make the most of your trip:
Radiator Springs Racers
This is the most popular ride at California Adventure right now! Climb aboard a 6-person car and take a tour through Ornament Valley. Go tractor tipping with Mater and see other familiar characters from the hit movie, Cars. Fine-tune your car at either Luigi’s Casa Della Tires or Ramone’s House of Body Art then head to the starting line. Your car is pitted against another one in a thrilling race to the finish line!
The Little Mermaid-Ariel’s Undersea Adventure
Be sure you pack your dinglehopper for this adventure! Step inside your “clam-mobile” and get ready to journey under the sea with Ariel. Dance and sing along with your favorite characters as you witness the story of The Little Mermaid unfold. This ride is sure to be a family favorite!
Soarin’ Over California
View the Golden State like never before as you hang glide over various landscapes. Feel the wind on your face as you soar over San Diego harbor. Smell the oranges as you fly over a grove of orange trees. Your flight is accompanied by a serene and dramatic musical score that was inspired by the optimistic spirit of California. The flight ends at the happiest place on earth just in time for you to see the fireworks over Sleeping Beauty castle. This is one ride you’ll want to go on again and again.
Grizzly River Run
Prepare to get wet on this one! Hop aboard an 8-person circular raft and float along a lazy river. The lazy river soon becomes a raging current! Bop up and down and spin and splash along the Grizzly River. With exciting and unexpected plummets and drops, you never know who in the raft will get the most wet! Think you have what it takes to brave this mountain?
Toy Story Midway Mania
One of the best family rides, in my opinion. Take a ride on a swiveling carnival car and enter the 4D world of toys. Grab your Spring-Action Shooter and take aim at targets. Compete for the high score in 5 different games! Throw darts to pop balloons and baseballs to break plates. A fun and exciting game for all ages!
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Make your way through the notorious and now abandoned Hollywood Tower Hotel and into a rundown boiler room. You’ll then enter the dusty service “elevator” and strap yourself in for a ride you won’t soon forget! Launch up into darkness and then scream in terror as you plummet downward. Catch a glimpse of the park as the doors open 13 stories up before you plunge down into darkness again! Each drop is different and you won’t have the same experience each time you ride. Will you make it out alive or will you be stuck in the Twilight Zone forever?
I’ve saved my personal favorite for last. Buckle up and get ready to scream! Glide over to the launch zone and wait as a voice counts down to takeoff. Then twist, dive, swoop, and drop on this thrilling coaster. You’ll get a brief moment to catch your breath before diving into the loop-de-loop that winds around a blazing sunburst. If you are a thrill seeker then the longest and fastest coaster at the Disneyland Resort is just for you!
