There are few things more important than food however eating in Walt Disney World can become quit expensive! I know I am always looking for some money saving tips, here are some for saving money on food in Walt Disney World;

  1. Drinks – make sure you are not spending all of your money on drinks while at the parks, one way to save some money here is too bring water bottles to the parks, you can refill them at the water fountains. Florida is known for it’s relentless heat so make sure to keep hydrated.
  2. Kids Meals – Disney does nothing small and this is no exception, a kids meal can fill most grown adults and they are much cheaper then the adult meals. Sometimes the kids meals are much more fun then the adult meals anyway.
  3. Do your research – There is so much information out there on Disney restaurants, some sites even include prices, this is a good way to see where you want to eat and how much you will be spending.
  4. Bring your own food – There is a supermarket that delivers to Disney World and you can purchase things like cereal, milk, bread and other goodness so you can make your own breakfast or lunch. You should also make sure to pack your bags up with snacks for you and the children so you will not be tempted to buy a $10.00 dollar cookie if you get a little hungry while at the parks.
  5.  Use Table Service for Lunch – Walt Disney World offers some amazing foods, but most of the time you can get the same food at lunchtime for much less cost then at dinner. It is great to take a break in the middle of the day to sit down for a less expensive lunch.
  6. Character Meals for Breakfast – Just like having a table service for lunch will be cheaper so will having a character meal at breakfast. This is also a great way to have a meal with the characters, the kids will be more alert (haven’t had a chance to get tired) and you will save some money!
  7. Use Gift Cards – the key to saving money here is buying your gift cards somewhere that will get you a discount. Target and Sam’s club often offer 5% off on Disney Gift cards

Hopefully these tips will help you out in saving a little cash while in Walt Disney World.

  1. Please, are Disney gift cards accepted at every Disney Springs store and restaurant? What about the Disney Springs Area Hotels?

    Can I pay a Disney Resort room with Disney gift cards?

  2. That’s all pretty much what me and my family do. It really does save money and you still get to enjoy yummy food and breakfast with the characters is just as great!! Also, here’s a great tip for lunch or even a snack: making PB&Js the night before and putting them in the freezer along with your water bottles. (Once it starts to melt a little you can keep refilling it and since some of the water is still frozen it keeps your water cool.) That way you don’t have to carry a cooler with you or you can always leave the cooler in the car and get it later. I know we take a cooler bag with us so we don’t have to worry about a huge cooler. And instead of having one bag with all the snacks and/or lunch (that doesn’t need to be in the cooler) split it up with whoever is taking a bag in the park. Makes it easier for everyone! Oh and we have gotten kids meals before and they are great too but also splitting the adult meals can be great too. You get to choose from a little more variety and you get more food. I know all the snacks and food there can be tempting and don’t get me wrong they are very yummy but the price adds up real fast. So if you can save then you can always have extra for treating yourself and the family to churros, roasted almonds, popcorn, dipped ice cream Mickey ears or etc. Also, I know drinks sound tempting especially with that heat and humidity but you can always buy the drink packets to put in your water! Anyways, there is so much more on saving when going so don’t flip out when seeing the prices.
